**Update:** Please, do not leave a negative review simply because you are consuming the hazelnuts straight from the bag. The very low price means you need to prepare them for the best experience. Bake them in the oven for about an hour and then remove the skin from the hazelnuts after they cool down. I've ordered these for the third time, and I am still impressed by the quality. I almost didn't buy these because of the negative reviews, which I believe are undeserved. The quality is fantastic! I baked them for 50 minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit, and then rolled them in my hands until the skins came off. After this baking process, you end up with the tastiest hazelnuts ever. For a two-pound bag, the price is a steal! Once baked, they last much longer in storage, and I found no mold or bad nuts at all. To be honest, hazelnuts are hard to come by, and now that I've tasted them, I can't believe how good they are. If you blend them with sugar and oil in a mixer, you can create a delicious hazelnut paste. This paste can be used for ice cream or desserts. Give it a try; you will love it, and your family will be asking what delicious dessert you made! This quality product deserves a full five stars.

For raw hazelnuts, this has been an incredible value for me. I grew up cracking open filberts and they've been a staple in my family for thirty years. But I've gotten older and lazier, and I really don't want to stand around crushing shells in my hand just to crunch on single nuts one after the other like a rabbit. Let me have a small handful. Maybe even a big handful. I was very surprised that these feel as fresh as the ones I open myself from our local grocery. With the raw hazelnuts, there's a slightly softer bite than if they were roasted, and it's incredibly pleasant. Also much nicer to avoid the shriveled up, bitter, goblinized hazelnuts that are sometimes lying in wait to ruin your palate when you crack them yourself.

Great value for the price! Great quality of nuts! I live in the middle of nowhere Montana and it's so hard to find hazelnuts here.. I would give you a 10 out of 5 stars if I could!

Very fresh, whole hazelnuts, or filberts, and almost no broken pieces. Very excellent quality and highly recommended.

Really annoyed. I just got these nuts in and everything about this order is wrong. I had filtered my searches to organic-only and these showed up in my filtered search. They are not organic and I didn't catch it. I shouldn't have to question filtered searches. I know Amazon is very sloppy about allowing just about anything appear in filtered searches. I thought that I was diligent but apparently missed it. I was also focused on domestically grown nuts and these are a product of Turkey. I was excited to receive them, opened the bag and ate a few and the flavor and crunch wasn't quite right. I looked closer at the bag and they aren't organic. I am not very fussy but these are not nearly the same quality that I had recently purchased elsewhere. They don't have the same crunch and seem stale. I have a depression-era mentality that you don't waste food when many people cannot afford their next meal. I'm not going to risk eating foods that are not USDA organic and possibly grown with bio-solids. They're not even going in my garden for fertilizer. They are going in the garbage.

I do get some strange tasting one from time to time but, overall a fair deal

I am a retired school teacher. After all 4 of my kids moved out, what is a single and bored old man to do? Okay I bake and cook. Yes ladies we do exist. I love hazelnut. Coffee, Nutella and cookies are my favorites. I also have other hobbies but spend most of my time either cook or growing my indoor plants. It is a pain in the . . . well you know, to shell hazelnuts. I ordered these, this specific brand, and it changed my time in the kitchen. I ordered my first batch about a month ago and ordered again . . . almost ready for another order. I would recommend these highly. They are the best tasting and easiest to work with that I have ever found. An easy 5 star!!
