Used by the Book
I recently purchased a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT in a private deal. The car was in good shape but had the usual 10 years bumps and bruises. The first thing that needed doing was a thourough cleaning of the outside (even though it was not bad when I got it).I browesd around the internet looking at various products and kits to restore the original shine to the factory painted surfaces. Some of the products sounded too good to be true so I settled in on the Meguiars Paint Restoration Kit because it didn't make outragious claims and had everything needed to do the job in the kit. Being it was near end of Fall where I am the three week delay in receiving the kit didn't really matter but the days where getting colder and I don't have a heated garage. The kit arrived and I did something I never do-I read the instructions at least three times and decided to follow them to the letter. The effects were better than expected. The first stage was wash-a little tricky as it was sleeting lightly outside but still warm enough with warm water in the bucket. A real good rinsing with the garden hose and then towel dried in the none heated garage (I cheated a bit by using an electic space heater). The next step was "claying" and this was new to me but quite easy to do-following the instructions to the letter acheived a "babies bum" smooth paint surface.Next step was Prep and that involved the Ultimate Compound which is a mild abrashive. Follow the instructions and don't let dry (you must wipe off and only do small sections at a time). The final step was waxing and again follow the instruction and apply thin even coat. After I wiped with the supplied "micro fiber" towels and WOW.The car was transformed and some parts that get very little wear (like the roof) were like showroom. I have done the complete program three times and now must wait until spring to do again but the product really delivers.I highly recommend this kit.

If I Can Do It...
I have really no experience detailing cars, but some internet research led me to believe that if I didn't do something about the oxidation on my 2004 black car, I would lose the top coat. So, after reading the reviews here and watching some videos, I took on the project with this kit with a Ryobi RB61G buffer. Admittedly, I haven't waxed my cars in years, so I wasn't expecting miraculous results, but it really helped with the dulling on the roof of my car. I followed all the steps and finished in three hours. I'd recommend this kit, which had all the products I'd planned to buy separately, though I can't imagine doing all the steps by hand, and my car is fairly small. My biggest concern came from the polisher after reading that I could really damage the finish if I used it incorrectly, but alls well and I'm so glad I have all the products and the skills instead of giving $200+ to a shop that may not have done a good job.

Restored fading paint to near new
I used this kit on a ten year old car. The white paint had begun to dull and this kit restored the paint to near new condition. It takes a lot of elbow grease though and next time I am buying an orbital polisher. Took about 4 hours to go through all the steps as instructed including washing the car first but well worth the effort. I will use this kit again and my only gripe is that the included clay bar is not nearly enough. Buy extra clay bars if you intend to clay your entire car which I recommend if it has never been clayed before.

Mequiar's G3300 Kit
I bought this for my 97 Explorer. It hadn't been waxed in years. I had my son do the cleaning and waxing since he will be driving it when he gets his permit. It looked pretty good. It was his first time waxing and buffing a car. He missed a few places and left some polish but it was a lot better than before. Most of the fine scratches came out and the shine was vg.

Perfect for people wanting a new car look!
This kit is amazing! I used it yesterday on my 1991 Ford Escort (a 22 year old car) which are known for having oxidation issues with their paint, when I was finished (took about 5 to 6 hours) my car looked like it had a new paint job! If you are willing to put in the time and elbow grease, it is a great purchase and you won't be dissapointed. Also, anyone can do it and make their car shine if they are willing to put in the work.Definitely keep the car in the shade or a cool dry place while using the products like it's recommended. The sun kept peeking through where I was and it made it a little more difficult.

Great product. As a first time user
Great product. As a first time user, following the instructions, and working by hand I am very pleased with the results. The paint on my hood was fading due to intense sun damage. It took me about an hour by hand but the hood looks much better. The kit includes everything you need, although I would recommend the electric buffer to save time. The first picture has half of the left side with the treatment and the right with the paint discoloration before treatment. The others are all after the treatment unedited and nofilters. I would recommend this product and will use it again and again.

Perfect Little Kit to Get You Started
The main reason I bought this kit was to evaluate a bunch of Meguiar's products car care products without throwing a handful of cash at Napa or it's equivalent. After using these miniature sized wonder liquids for a few months, I am very happy with the purchase and have considered gifting one to my brother. Everything you need to give the old girl a new luster is in this box except for the bucket, water and elbow grease. Overall I would say the quality and reputation is all there just in a quarter of the size. Great price, well put together kit. Recommended.

Pretty good!
This product did a really decent job on my car. I'm sure my car would look even better if I hadn't gotten lazy and tired towards the end (the ultimate compound step). Get ready.. to go through all 4 steps it will take several hours-- took me 5. However, it's very easy to do!

Paint Restoration kit - worth every penny
Recently bought a low mileage car, usual story one careful lady owner, full service history but unfortunately it hadn't been washed or waxed much in the time it had been owned. Car visually looked perfect, but closer inspection by touch and under artificial light made you aware that the paint had oxidised, leaving the finish feeling rough and there were more swirl marks than an ice skating rink, after an ice hockey game.I had always previously used AutoGlym as my go to car polish and paint restorer, I had always been impressed by the results but always noted the white powdery residue that would spoil the finish on dark paint. So thought I'd give Meguiar's a go having read reviews that this didn't leave the white residue. Saw this kit for sale on Amazon and thought I'd give it a go as it contained everything I'd need, from car washing , clay bar and detailing/clay bar lubricant for removing any impurities on the paint surface, including I hoped the oxidisation, ultimate compound for reducing/removing the 'swirl's', Carnauba wax for giving the gloss finish, it even had a couple of sponge application pads and a micro fibre cloth.Starting of with the car wash - does what it says on the tin, foams well and lifts the dirt. Moving onto the clay bar - detailing/lubricating spray, brilliant. I've used clay before and it's always been hard to work into a nice manageable size even when warm, but the Meguiar's clay bar was easy to knead into a workable shape and size and with a few squirts of the lubricating spray and a few passes of the clay, you could tell the difference in the paint smoothness, the roughness I'd felt when running my fingers over the paintwork when dry or the drag I'd felt on the chamois as I dried the car off disappeared, leaving the paintwork feeling silky smooth. Next it was onto the compound to remove the swirls in the paintwork. As instructed, I used small circular motions, in an overlapping pattern on a small area (1/4 of bonnet) to quickly and effortlessly work the compound across the paint and then wiping off with the micro fibre cloth before the compound dried out. The compound removed effortlessly without leaving any white powdery residue, again leaving the paintwork feeling silky smooth and a visible improvement on what I'd started with. Finally it was time to use the Carnauba wax to polish the car to a showroom finish. The wax applies clear and is easily worked into the paint, then buffed off using another micro fibre towel I had, to leave the paint with a glass like appearance for depth of shine and so smooth to touch, that your fingers just glide over the paint with no sense of drag. The appearance and feel to the paint work now after a few hours of effort is incredible, quite an astonishing transformation. You read the review's and the blurb given out by retailers and manufacturer's, but I have to say they weren't wrong, this is a great kit and the products within are well worth the money for the return they give. My car is now looking as good or almost as good as the day it came out of the factory/showroom.

Amazing finishing kit.
Quite an amazing product really. Bought this to bring a bit of life to the paintwork on my Honda S2000 and it did the job perfectly. The shampoo and polish alone can bring out a great shine on the car, while the clay bar can remove any dirt embedded in the paintwork, and the colour restorer can remove any minor scratches and defects in the paintwork. I did find that some deeper scratches (although still minor) were not removed, although I expect T-Cut or a similar scratch repairer tool will remove those, but overall it made my car look almost brand new (the car itself is 8 years old now, and lives outside).Be aware that doing the job properly will require a fair bit of time, so you'll probably want to set aside a morning or afternoon to do the whole thing. It took me a few hours in total to get the whole thing done. It's well worth it though if like me your car is your pride and joy.

Great product but buy from elsewhere delivery way too slow
Superb product brought my TVR up looking like new. Takes a lot of elbow grease and at least a half day so would recommend an electric rotating polisher and maybe a few additional micro fibre clothes.Delivery tho.... really poor. Order placed on1st May but delivery receipt showed order not processed until 6th May with an estimated delivery of 11th May. It arrived 12th May. I ordered many items the same day and this arrived way last.
