Worked As Well as Dremel Drill
I am very pleased with this product. It was on the low-cost spectrum, and I expected it wouldn't be as good as my drill... but it actually is. In fact, it worked better. I use it for trimming and thinning fungus thickened nails. For me, this is the only way to control them to keep them from growing in-grown or becoming too thick. They file down quite nicely. I have been slowly getting rid of the fungus, but when my drill died on me, I procrastinated in ordering another one. This one is so easily handled. It has plenty of power and anything you need comes with it. I totally sculpted my nails, flattening out the raised high ridges and drilling down the thickness. My toenails are so much better looking now, it's hard to see that I have a problem at all. My toenails look totally normal to anyone not specifically holding a magnifying glass to my toes (whew, how creepy). No more pain, fungus is so easily treated (I use vinegar water to soak and treat with a silicone toe cover, wash, rinse, etc.). It's impossible to treat the fungus with the thickness and hardness of the nails... trim both the ends and the surface and the treatment is absorbed 20 times better than leaving the nail thickened and trying to treat. I had to have my husband help me before. He loves this gadget because it is so handy, simplified to hold and manipulate. The power is very strong... no difference to my plug-in. To be honest, I don't know how long the battery lasts, because it's never stopped on me, yet. I've even used it successfully on my dog and cat nails. Being wireless, not overly heavy or large (easy to manipulate) helped more than I thought. All my fur babies have no problem now as it's not as scary as the other plug-in that I was using. They seem much more receptive. They still don't like it but are not totally freaked out and remain reasonably comfortable. Recommend.

Easy to use, when the button works
I'm a dog groomer. I loved this tool so much that I recommended it to another dog groomer. It works amazing for doing dog nails. Unfortunately, her tool quit working after 6 months. My tool is starting to go out after 1.5 years. I love everything about this except for the power button. The light is useful, the adjustable power settings help me file down different thicknesses of nails, it's tough enough to not break after being dropped, it feels heavy enough in the hand, but not too heavy to cause hand fatigue. Once Avid Power fixes the power button issue, this is gonna be one of the best rotary tools on the market for groomers.

Dog dremel
I work with dogs and this has been the best dremel I’ve used, it fits perfectly into ur hand so it’s easy. It’s pretty lights weight, u can adjust the speed accordingly to nail sizes or just how dogs react to the noise, it’s cordless.

Perfect for dogs!
I bought and use my AVID POWER Cordless Rotary Tool primarily for trimming dog nails. I have a few Dremel corded tools which are bulky, need to be plugged in, and overpowered for the task. So I bought a couple cordless tools, but wasn’t happy (most were underpowered) until I purchased your AVID POWER Cordless Rotary Tool 2.0 Ah 8V Rechargeable Rotary Tool. Your AVID POWER Cordless Rotary Tool 2.0 Ah is rechargeable, contains 4 Front LED Lights, 5 Speeds, and comes with 60 differently configured bits. It’s the perfect size and weight for holding in one hand, much quieter than Dremel tools, easy to change speeds, change sandpaper disks and covers; and unencumbered by cords that constantly seem to get in the way. Dogs, as well as their owners are impressed with how fast I’m able to manicure their dog’s paws. After a while of use I experienced problems with the tool recharging. I wrote the company and they immediately sent me another, asking me to open and check the original to see if I could tell what had gone wrong. When I received the new unit I discovered that they had already made changes necessary to solve the recharge problem as well as make the tool more useful in general. I now have a tool I can depend on produced by a company I can equally depend on. Thank you.

Not worth the cheapness of it
I have bought 3 of these crap things and I'm a little sick of how it's going. From day one I got the replacement plan to get them replaced, which makes sense but it is so very difficult to get it actually replaced. So be aware of that and more on this later. The first one worked great for maybe 2 months then when in use it sounded like a jet engine taking off. Not good if you use it one dogs nails. Got a hold of amazon for a replacement, they directed me to to the AVID company page. After a bunch of back and forth and only after sending them actual video of the loudness of this unit they finally sent a replacement. I went and bought a second one so I wasn't without one while the other one was getting shipped. Well after about a month the button, when you press to turn it on, nothing. I took it apart and saw that it is making contact with the components, but something is up with the circuit board. I kept going back and forth with the AVID co to get a replacement but someone over there dropped the ball. Nothing. The third one, was my personal one I bought some 9 months ago and eventually that one died on me at like the 11 month mark. If only the AVID company made it any kind of easy to get a replacement. I wouldn't recommend unless you want a 3 month throw away dremel. Sad because it is a good design, but perhaps cheeeap parts makes it crap out. ugh.

I purchased this for grinding my dogs nails. I have been using a corded rotary tool made for dogs but it doesn’t have the power that this does. I had also previously used a Dremel cordless but I couldn’t even do 3 dogs nails before the battery died. I have used this for several mail sessions now and not had to recharge. It is still working as well as when I first charged it. And the light makes it so easy to see the kwik of the nail. My only complaint is that it is somewhat heavier that other rotary tools I have used. But this is not affecting my use of it.

I use this dremel for my dogs nail (bought a separate tip) and I love how I can adjust the speed. The light makes it super easy to see what I’m doing. The battery life lasts a long time for me, but then again I am only using it for a couple minutes every couple weeks.

This rotary tool probably isn't as good as a Dremel, but most of the time that doesn't really matter. It's more than enough for quick fixes, and a lot easier than dragging out and setting up my Mastercraft rotary tool. I like the bag, which opens so that you can easily access all of the contents and has semi-rigid walls for structure and protection. However, it would be nice if there was some elastic inside to hold the plastic accessory box. I might add some velcro strips to do that, or maybe 3D-print something to make better use of the space. The tool is sufficiently powerful. My only concern is that the button to lock the chuck in place (for attaching bits) looks and feels a lot like a power button. It would have been better if it wasn't quite so prominent, and I might wrap a rubber band around it to prevent myself from absentmindedly pushing it while the tool is running. That might suck. I wish that this could be charged via USB instead of having its own proprietary AC adaptor. At least the adaptor is small and lightweight. Overall, this is a handy tool that offers decent value. Just keep in mind that an actual Dremel will be more versatile due to the various attachments they sell (which won't fit onto this tool).

I now use this for engraving and many other things, love the zip cut, great for small jobs like cutting off bolts etc. Now item is $101.00 in 2023, bought this July 11, 2021 for $39.99 CDN, I thought it was worth every penny, is most popular rotary tool no wonder the huge price jump. Now I have to go and buy an inferior one for a replacement and it will probably be pink and 3.7 volt for $17.00

This is a decent little Dremel, I bought it to do my three dog’s nails. It does a good job - quick, and doesn’t overheat. However, I was super upset by how long this took to ship. I ordered it and it took almost 3 weeks from when I placed the order to ship out/leave the facility, and then another week to arrive! Considering it shipped from within my country, it should not have taken that long to ship out. This was super disappointing, if I had known it was going to take that long, I would have just gone to the local hardware store and picked one up in person. But other than that I would order this again. So the product itself, definitely four out of five stars. But the shipping experience costed it in another star.
