Will this also kill rats and mice?

While this is lethal to rats and mice, it is only to be used to kill pests explicitly listed on the label. It is also only intended to attract listed pests as well. Kaput makes a pelletized bait and a grain based bait specifically for rats and mice and you can find it in our Amazon store.

It has been almost a week since I started. The box is almost out. What should I do?

It can take several feedings (which may happen in as little as a day) to consume a lethal dose and then 3-5 days for the ground squirrel to die. If you have many ground squirrels you must have a continuous supply of bait available so they can all consume a lethal dose. Remember that this is intended to be used in a feeding station and not broadcast across the ground for several reasons: it can be difficult for the squirrels to consume a lethal dose that way as they must scavenge the bait and may move on to another food source, it can be hard to monitor their feeding, and it allows bait access to unintended animals and children. Without knowing your particular circumstances it can be difficult to make any more specific suggestions beyond making sure there’s enough bait for all the feedings squirrels to consume a lethal dose is a short amount of time.

Will this kill tree squirrels?

This would be lethal to tree squirrels and any mammal the size of a ground squirrel. Please only use is accordance with the label and federal law.

Will this work for tree squirrels?

This bait is not intended for use on tree squirrels and should not be used for controlling any animal other than those listed on the label in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
