We use these giant filter bags for rendering beef fat into tallow or pork fat into lard. Absolutely love that they keep most of the solid bits out of my products. They don’t burst, even when vigorously squeezed. Pour the liquid fat through a stainless steel honey filter to remove any fine particulates this misses, heat it again to remove any lingering moisture, and it’s an easy shelf stable product every time. They can be washed, but truly I’m working with animal fat so it’s an ordeal. Cheap enough that if you didn’t want to deal with it you wouldn’t need to.

I has previously used cheesecloth for stewing stock. I was going thru quite a lot when I decided to try these bags. They worked just as good as cheese cloth if not better I was able to fasten the drawstring bag around a large stock pot and strain the stock easily.

I used these to strain apple goop i made in a blender in an attempt to make apple cider. They worked extremely well, i even did a durability test of one of these with the sharp object i had on hand which was a knife with a semi dull tip and this held up well. I'd gladly buy these and reccomend to anyone wanting to do nut milk, cheese making, or even cider out of apple goop

I use this for seeping licorice root tea for soar throat or congestion. Also good for coffee & loose tea leaves.

Definitely worth it.

I've been using my first bag for numerous brewing mashes and find it quite durable. My mashing tun has a thermometer which pokes into the side of the bag so you have to be careful, but the bag stands the heat of full boiling and hasn't got a hole in it yet. Very good bags.
