The Rolling Stones - From The Vault: No Security. San Jose '99 [DVD/2CD]

The No Security Tour was a series of intimate shows with interesting setlists and incredible performances. Almost as good as the Stripped Tour in '95 and this set from San Jose was among the best shows. To get it on Blu-ray and CD'S in one neat little package, well it rarely gets better than this!

Not unlike Stones shows themselves, the seemingly endless "From the Vault" series is somewhat hit-and-miss and I was surprised at how good this release from 1999 is. Musically as well as technically, I think this is one of the more essential discs.The camera work in the relatively small venue is crisp and well edited. The audio is both crisp and muscular ("To be played at maximum volume"). Most of all, the performances are assured while often playfully loose. In a nod to the "Unplugged" vogue at the time, they even migrate to a "B stage" that's about as intimate as the parking lot of the venue yet somehow they make it work. Also a special shout out to the venerable Charlie Watts and "replacement" bassist Darryl Jones, who together lock down a truly formidable rhythm backbone.I would never have guessed before I experienced it, but more than 35 years later, with no few past members MIA/DIA, No Security demonstrates that the Stones could still make music magic. Highly recommended.

I was there at one of the two nights at San Jose. The band was on fire🎸as evidenced by this bluray. The picture is not in widescreen but the video is very good and I like the editing. The sound is very immersive and you feel you are actually at the concert unlike some other concert videos that just have reverb for the rear channels. The bass, midrange and highs are all there so I rate the audio 5 and the video 4.5. If you are a Stones fan or just like a good concert this bluray is a must. I haven’t listened to the 2 CDs 💿yet but if they sound like this I will be listening often. 👏👏

Been a fan since seeing them as a kid on Ed Sullivan. I don't know where I was in 1999....maybe a career change or just life passing by, but somehow I missed this one and just now gave it a good loud look. If you want to put a smile on your face and others from ear to ear. ...don't think twice, just get this one. Superb. Over the top. No band tighter. Mick and all in great form.

These From the Vault releases are excellent. If you like live music and don’t want to buy bootlegs (which are almost always of much worse quality),these are a no brainer. This release didn’t come with the dvd that previous releases did, which was a disappointment and the reason I’m docking it a star (they must want you to buy it separately), but the albums pressed on different-colored vinyl was a nice touch, and the sound quality was excellent as usual.

Another classic From the Vault! Love the setlist and the recording. This set had me rocking all night. So glad this tour got released, so nice to hear some of the more obscure songs. I just wish they would have done ""Moonlight Motel" on this particular show, because they did perform it on this tour occasionally, that would have made this a perfect release!

Watching this reminds me of why I've loved this band since the 1960's. I saw 2 shows in a row on this tour and they are my all time favorites. Stripped down stage and the band firing on all cylinders. The hits are there as well as some obscure favourites. I've been hoping for years to hear Keith do You Got The Silver in concert. I was not disappointed. The only complaint I have with this DVD is Keith's guitar is too low in the mix.

These guys are having a blast and we get to go along for the ride. Hold on. You will not disapointed.

Concerto spettacolare che coglie gli Stones in un momento di gran forma. Tutti i pezzi sono eseguiti in modo super, sul primo cd si parte con una poderosa "Jumpin' jack flash" e si chiude con "Before they make me run" con un Keith Richards irresistibile, sul secondo cd superano ogni aspettativa Tumbling dice" e "It's only rock'n roll". La serie"From the vault" continua ad offrire una grande testimonianza sulla loro lunga vita. Da avere sia per gli amanti dei Rolling Stones sia per tutti. Registrazione perfetta. Anche Amazon perfetto.
