This Sabre stun gun offers many attributes that are vital for using a stun gun as a self-defense choice. The ability to penetrate 3-layers of clothing, new anti-grab technology, the comfortable grip, a decent little LED light, level III on the pain scale (Sabre’s site educates you on the different levels and the amount of pain certain stun guns administrate), etc.IMHO, it's the best choice overall for a stun gun. Sabre stun guns are the best way to go when selecting an option for self-defense. They are the only company who measures the true strength of their stun guns. They don't use volts like EVERY OTHER seller of stun guns. VOLTS ARE A COMPLETE MYTH! If you wish to confirm that statement please do your own research concerning them, start with visiting Sabre’s website first.To be better informed about what stun gun you want as a self-defense choice, please read on Sabre’s website, “Stun Gun Voltage: One of the Biggest, Most Dangerous Myths in Personal Safety”.It provides the truth concerning stun guns (their ways of measuring the strength and the TRUTH about volts).In addition, I wrote a review on the nearly identical VIPERTEK VTS-989. Mainly due to it's near identical shape, features, and particularly their boast of 15 BILLION VOLTS. Electrodes per centimeter apart equals 30,000 volts.So for example, if the electrodes are spaced 5 centimeters apart your max voltage is 150,000.The differences are as follows, Sabre measures their stun gun with the assistance of the National Institute of Justice. They use microCoulombs (µC), not volts (again, which are a complete myth). Unless the “stun gun contacts” or “Electrodes“ are 500,000 centimeters apart from each other.Having purchased this model (VIPERTEK VTS-989) for my Mother through a different vendor, I’ve researched and discovered these facts. If you’re contemplating purchasing this model from Vipertek, I urge you to reconsider and go with Sabre’s S-1009 model.The model (VIPERTEK VTS-989) is designed NEARLY identical to Sabre’s S-1009. Although, performance and reliability is a different matter entirely.I attached a graph, it details different brands of stun guns, as well as Sabre and it’ll show the measurements of microCoulombs (µC) and voltage. For less than $25 this is a steal. You’d normally pay $25 at least just for the stun gun!Anyways, I researched the pepper spray as well.These words from Johnny Knoxville pretty much sum up the quality of this pepper spray...“But the most pain (I ever felt on Jackass) was probably from getting sprayed with SABRE Red pepper spray smack dab in the eyes. Excruciating pain for at least 20 minutes. It feels like someone started a fire in your eyes and put it out with kerosene.”That’s from a guy that used to torture himself with friends as a profession!Sabre is the #1 brand trusted by police and consumers worldwide. It’s also said to be, double the average strength of other brands of pepper spray and and just as potent as our industry-leading police sprays.Lastly, it’s a level III spray with major capsaicinoids ranging over 1%. Which is enough to deter a bear. And regarding gel pepper spray, they can be just as effective as any other. It’s main purpose is to eliminate wind blow-back. So, if you live in a windy city consider a gel spray.

Both work great! The stun gun is really loud which adds to the safety element. Also its in the picture but i didn’t notice that the pepper spray has a clip so that makes it easier to carry around.

Stun gun and pepper spray canister arrived as expected. Both work and live up to expectations.The “holster” that was included is comical and ridiculous. It cannot hold the stun gun and it won’t even work for the pepper spray.Not sure what the idea was - my guess is it is meant for something other than this product.It is way too narrow to ever hold the stun gun properly and even if I could get it there - it would take way too long to draw in an emergency.As a bonus, every time I tried to jam the stun gun into the thong of a holster it always turned on the flashlight function.I could easily see someone doing this and shocking themselves if the three position switch went from off to light to stun and then you accidentally hit the fire toggle switch.Useless holster!

Got here early! Charged it and seems to work well. I like the can of pepper spray. Will go nice in my vehicle.

The unfortunate (or perhaps fortunate) part of buying a self defense implement, is the fact that having to use either taser or spray to test there efficacy probably means you're in a unsavory situation. So instead of using them on myself/someone else, I'll mention the great 2 for 1 price on the products, as well as the detailed information on shock pain. This taser advertises itself to be even stronger that the previous VST taser I had (maybe its VTK or something), though the flashlight is weaker, without a doubt, shining it in an attackers eyes will leave light spots in there vision. It's also a bit bigger that I expected, and rather sturdy, even compared to my previous metal taser.The anti grab bars on the prints are also pretty cool. Barring it starts to crap out on, this product is currently 5 stars.
