Amazing product
Just when I was getting ready to throw in the towel and return it. I realized the bolts were so stripped that I had to hammer the socket in. This made all the difference in the world. A vise grip couldn’t even take out the bolts.

Worked Great
This tool is well designed. Rounded the head of my oil pan drain plug and then completely rounded the head when I tried removing using vice grips. Used other tools with no success. Finally used the Irwin tool and an impact wrench. The bite the tool made on bolt head was impressive (see photo). Saved me the work of dropping the oil pan.

Worth every penny - and then a bunch more
Finally had a chance to use these. Pulling the rear subframe isolator bolts on a 93 Tbird that has spent it's whole life in New England weather. The result of which is that nothing on the underside of the car is going to move without significant effort. The isolators came out with a sawsall and sledge hammer which unfortunately leaves a 1/2 inch long stub of the bolt sticking out a hole in the frame. No head left, just the rusted remains of threads. Pick one of these extractors, tap it onto the bolt gently, apply a little heat, hit the socket with a impact wrench and right out it comes. Beautiful. Only trick so far is that you need enough length for the flutes to have a chance to cut into the fastener to hold. The second bolt needed one extractor to round off the high parts of the bolt, then the next size smaller to successfully grab and hold. No sign of damage/wear to any of the extractors used so they seem like they'll last. But then, at the price of these, if they work once, they've paid for themselves. Only complaint is that the extractors really hold onto the bolt which creates the issue that once you have the bolt out of wherever it was originally, it is now held fast in the extractor - would be nice if this kit included a punch of suitable diameter to make it easy to pop the removed fastener back out of the extractor.

Removed stuck spark plug
I have a 2005 Ford F150 with the notorious 5.4L 3v engine. One of my spark plugs was badly seized and the hex was rounded off. I was sweating and had this overnighted and it worked. I'm ecstatic.A few notes/tips:1. Everything I read said my plugs were 9/16ths, welp they were 5/8s aftermarket. Don't ignore your gut.2. Heat up your engine so it's hot. I soaked the plug in carb cleaner/pb blaster and tried to remove it cold the next morning. The bit started grinding and slipping but not moving the plug. After I ran the engine for about 30 min I was able to break it loose.3. Give it a hammer on the top of the socket/extension. This helps to both break the rust lose a bit as well as get the bit deep down on the plug.

Should use a 1/2" drive, not 3/8".
I used this to remove a frozen lug nut on my daughter's jeep. Some idiot had put the lugs on with an airgun. I was able to get the others off by standing and bouncing on a breaker bar, but not this one. I snapped three sockets and adapters on it. My tire guys couldn't even get it off with his airgun. When I first got this socket, I discovered that the drive size for the socket is only 3/8". I was using a half inch breaker bar, so I had to use an adapter on the socket. The adapter snapped off right away. Because the socket has a hexagonal end, I decided to try putting a giant wrench on the end. However, it dawned on me that I could just put a large 1/2" drive socket over the hex. Then, using my breaker bar and a length of pipe, I was able to unscrew the lug nut. I gave this socket 4 out of 5 stars because, to break loose frozen nuts, it really should have a 1/2" drive instead of a 3/8". The curved interior lobes held well enough when driven on with a hammer. They destroyed the lug nut, but what can you expect.

Grip it & rip it
Exhaust bolt crusty rusty fused together. Stripped out never going to turn .The nut grabber exstractor latched on and with a breaker bar I snapped it off .

Excellent product
I only used one of the extractors thus far but it was worth every dollar. Used this on my 2006 Ford F150 with the 5.4 motor which is notorious for breaking and freezing in the heads. I had luck with a few tricks getting 5 of them out but these 3 pictured just wouldn't budge and caused me to start rounding out the hex. I panicked and then did some searching and was pointed to try these.I read a few reviews and a lot of people suggest to hammer these down, no need just give it downward pressure and turn left, needed a bit of leverage and a bigger breaker bar but it worked awesome. One of the back cylinders with very nad clearance for me to push down I needed to tap it in lightly with a hammer but that's just because I had no choice with getting both hands in there. Panicked a bit when it was spinning again but I gently tapped the extractor down and did the same as others and it came right out no issues. saved me a ton of money bringing it to the shop and these are by far some of the most useful tools for repair work! Highly recommend everyone have these in your tool box!!!

It worked on a rounded, rusted, stuck spark plug!
I was amazed at how well the 5/8" socket gripped a very badly damaged spark plug. The plug cavity was full of water for who knows how long so the spark plug was completely submerged and rusted to the point that material was missing. It was extremely stuck and a normal spark plug socket was just slipping. I soaked it it PB Blaster for two days, lightly taped this extractor socket onto the spark plug, used an 18" long 3/8" ratchet and pulled so hard the handle was curved. No slipping, just very firm bite and then.... it broke loose! I'm impressed.

Very strong and well mader
I bought the best set available. Yes available at cheaper prices from other manufacturers but if you need this tool then you need one that will do the job not inferior quality.

Removed a rounded spark plug
The kit and tools are of good quality though are a bit more costly than some other competing products available. I chose this because of the known good brand name and some of the reviews. I came across a rounded spark plug while trying to do standard vehicle maintenance on a used vehicle a family member purchased. A broken off spark plug or a damaged engine head were very stressful possible outcomes. Based on how that spark plug looked, I would think it was original so about 11 years and 250Km, fortunately some penetrating oil and these extractors got it out.

Quality
This product was such a relief, had stripped spark plug in my ,04 Explorer. Orderd these online praying they would work and they sure did. Pounded the 5/8 on light with a hammer and cranked the old rusty plug right out(used penetrating fluid first). Good product defiantly worth it.
