Very pleased with this direct drive trainer!
I really only wanted a direct drive trainer to literally hold my bike in place so I could ride indoors and have full control of shifting and power. So I cannot speak to the โsmartโ component of this trainer, I can only speak to it as a direct drive trainer being used in โfree rideโ capacity. And here I can say this has been an AMAZING purchase! It did necessitate me ordering a cassette that is the same as what my rear wheel has on it (about $50), and I had to resort to my husbandโs help to actually get the cassette on the trainer since that needed a particular toolโฆand there is a specific way to put the spacer(s) on so that the hub is free-spinning, but once that was all squared away, this has worked like a charm! Super easy to move too, as itโs not very heavy and has an easy carrying handle on it. Itโs also quite quiet and Iโm able to do standing intervals/sprints with security too. A truly fantastic purchase from the standpoint of being a direct drive trainer!!

May be the best smart trainer at this price
This was a gift for my daughter and she loves it! Uses it daily with her 2024 Specialized Diverge Comp E5. May be the best smart trainer you can get at this price point. Provides great resistance and isnโt too noisy; she can listen to music without issue. Bluetooth worked immediately.

smaller version of the X7pro
4th trainer from think rider i purchase from 2019 the 2max is good all around the power is accurate to spec. +_1.5 2 percent the only complaint i have is the noise from the chain and i think it due to the hub no spinning completely true it looks like its wobbly or could have a slight bent in it ...also the feet are a bit short. as accelerating and applying power you can tip over... the X7 pro is much more stable..but at this price point well worth it. connection went well and i use it on rouvy.

Awesome product
I usually prefer to use and test a product before posting my positive and/or negative experience. I loved this product as soon as I started using it. Easy setup, took me less than five minutes setting it up and enjoyed a 2hr ride. Very quiet and smooth compared to my traditional trainer.

I'm impressed with the ease of Bluetooth connections!
I needed some help from my local bike mechanic to attach my Trek road bike to the trainer, but other than that I've had no issues at all. The Bluetooth connection is consistently smooth and painless. The trainer itself is as quiet as I'd hoped and I don't have trouble listening to podcasts with earbuds while riding. Well worth the price.

Excellent product !!
The product is excellent and does exactly what it promises. I've been using it for almost two weeks now, and it exceeded my expectations. It's very quiet, and the ride simulation is very realistic (I use the Rouvy App). Installation was super simple and trouble-free. I just had to buy a Shimano cassette identical to the one on my bikes, and I installed it myself. I have two bikes: one road bike with a quick-release axle, and the other a mountain bike with a 12mm thru axle. In both cases, thanks to the shims provided with the trainer, they worked perfectly. Regarding the seller, delivery was very fast, many days earlier than Amazon had estimated. I recommend the product.

I was pleasantly surprised until I WAS NOT!!!
Easy setup, I am using My Whoosh with an iPhone 16 and have zero complaints. It does not have an on/off button so I purchased a extension cord with a on/off switch so I donโt have to keep unplugging it and plugging it back in. Edited 1/13/2026. I began having issues with the ThinkRider not outputing the cadence reading that could only be corrected by unpowering and repowering the unit. I updated the firmware, recalibrated, tried different apps all with the same result. I contacted ThinkRider and they told me via a message that the cadence sensor was faulty and they would send a new one as it was "easy to change" rather than warranty the unit. What arrived via snail mail is an ANT cadence sensor that ThinkRider wants me to put on my bike's crank arm. Knocking my review from 5 to 3 stars as I feel ThinkRider knows they have a trainer with "issues" and they do not want to stand behind their warranty.

Pretty impressive so far
I bought this to keep up my conditioning over the winter. I started using it after Christmas when "my wife" gave it to me. I use my Trek AL3 with 9 speed Sora group and it has worked perfectly since I started using it. No noise or vibrations and it seems very stable even when out of the saddle. The instructions were a bit lacking to install the bike but with my 9 speed cassette I installed the provided spacer and used logic and experience to figure out how to insert the hub spacers. I use it with the free app MyWhoosh and it gives very believable feedback; maybe too realistic as I hit those 11-12% climbs! Connecting it to MyWhoosh was a total no-brainer. The smartphone app for the trainer seems pretty crummy, but it does not appear that it is required in any way, so I ignore it. I think I did update the firmware when I initially started it up. The Cyber Monday price was 1/3 to 1/2 of the cost of other trainers, and though I've never used another trainer, it seems like a steal.

Very satisfied
I don't have any experience with the more expensive smart trainers, but I honestly can't imagine this one being any better. I did have to buy a sprocket cassette that matched my bike which is a 9-speed, but as far as the functionality, noise level, all around easy setup, I just can't imagine one of the more mainstream brands being any better than this for twice the money or more

Amazing price for smart trainer
Every bit as good as my wahoo trainer and I hope much better over time. I went through 2 $1800 wahoo trainers that just stopped creating resistance. The x2 max trainer connected flawlessly and has worked great fornthe last 6 months

It was a great deal on cyber monday.
4.5 / 5. Just arrived yday. It was too good a deal to pass up 16% of + a 20% coupon applied during cyber monday. Works as advertised. Ordered on a Tuesday and arrived on Sat - from China to Canada?! I think that's a new record for any shipment from there to me. Can't comment on accuracy of power but responds quickly to incline changes in Zwift and Rouvy and the gradients feel correct compared to my other trainer. Easy to setup and paired without any hiccups to my PC. The only thing I noted was that my bike was just on a slight tilt to the right and either it's my floor not being completely level or something to do with the trainer base being just a bit off. I didn't have this issue with a different trainer though. I shimmed the right side of the base with a few layers of duct tape and it's all good. I'll update if any issues.

Works legitimately well
Firmware upgrade on thinkrider app from play store. Calibrated with thinkrider app Set it up with mywhoosh app. It connects flawlessly. Multiple family members and multiple devices. It couldn't be better really. Make sure you have " discover nearby devices" to on. It feels very solid and well made. It has a big flywheel in there
