FROGTAPE Advanced Painters Tape

The FrogTape Advanced Painter’s Tape is easily one of the best tapes I’ve used for painting projects. At 1.5 inches wide, it provides excellent coverage and makes edging much easier. It applies smoothly, sticks well to the surface, and most importantly, removes cleanly without leaving residue or peeling paint. The paint-blocking technology really works—I got sharp, clean lines with no bleeding, even on textured walls. It also holds up well if left on for a few days, so I didn’t feel rushed to finish the job. Overall, a reliable and high-quality painter’s tape that makes a big difference in achieving professional-looking results.

My wife ordered a pair of LED decorative sconces in a burnished gold color. After a while she decided she wanted them in black. So I looked to Amazon and found a Rust-Oleum 2x in satin black and a roll of Frog masking tape. The tape went on very well and I was shortly ready to paint. I used an exacto to trim the tape in a few places. The tape does not tear. And the edges hold very well, even going on round parts. We let it dry for a few hours before putting the lights back up. The tape came off after the drying period very easily with clean edges. They look great. This is a pro quality masking tape.

Amazing lines and very easy to remove after painting. I even left it for a few days after painting to see if it would saturate and tear where the paint line hit it and not remove the entire width. It performed perfectly. The tape is amazing!

This has been the best painter's I've used. It hasn't gotten sticky and been hard to tear. It adheres well and leaves a good edge. The container it comes in protects the edges from collecting dust.

This doesn’t seem as thick as it used to be and even the color is different. It seems to work okay.

This is really good stuff; good blend of strength and stickiness. Note that it differs from the 1.88 inch wide tape sold at building supply places. The tape is thinner, somewhat smoother, and feels a bit more like plastic film than paper. Note I say "a bit" because it still behaves like paper, but seems to come off a bit more cleanly with less tearing. I have to say, I was surprised (and not in a good way) that it was so different than the 1.88 inch stuff. I was expecting it was just a wider version. And it wasn't. But after putting down just a few strips of it, and getting a feel for the difference, I now greatly prefer this tape to the conventional tape. (Note that I was taping-off a kitchen counter while installing a subway tile backsplash. The regular style Frogtape kind of got stuck in the thin set mortar, but this stuff pulled right out without tearing. Your experience may vary, this is just what I saw using Schluter all-set mortar and MAPI ultracolor grout)

I love using this tape for all my applications where good painters tape is needed. The tape has good stretch built in which lens itself well for taping glue joints. I also appreciate how well my scribe marks show up on this bright background, making lines easier to see while removing material

This is the second roll, great tape for household painting jobs. Easy to peel off when done. It's been good product and does the job well.

I was expecting more out of frog tape. The yellow version is by far a better product for the type of work I do which I use it in my art paintings. It was much stiffer and didn’t have the flexibility as the other frog yellow tape systems do.

Worked perfectly - used it whilst painting

An interesting addition to the Frog Tape range. More flexible than the original, this type can be made to go around relatively shallow curves. If it were narrower it could go around even tighter ones. Adheres well and comes away cleanly giving a crisp edge.

The frontage was strong enough to hold up my balloon arch but gentle enough to not damage the wall when the display was taken down.
