Great once you know how it works.
I love it, especially the bigger size. BUT it took a while to get the green light to come on I had to e-mail Brita for an answer. Okay, So when you first use it, pop a cartridge in. Fill the jug. When you’ve fitted the little light indicator to the lid press it down for about 5-10 seconds, it will go green, so when your pouring you’ll see the light stays green this means the water cartridge is fine. Orange it’s starting to run low, Red, change the cartridge.

LOVE IT
This water filter jug is absolutely AMAZING! As where I live the water is absolutely appalling; I didn’t think that a water filter would be strong enough to get at least close to bottled water results. But I was wrong! I absolutely LOVE IT! Whenever someone comes around to my place I present it to them: I find it very stylish (unlike the other/previous BRITA jugs), the water tastes amazingly and it’s got a great capacity (I would really recommend taking the XL one rather than the normal one. As I am already filing my XL one up 3 times a day. With the small one you’ll have to fill it up after every use. (Keep in mind that you can’t really have non filtered water in it whilst poring filtered one out)), I also like the fact that it’s got a convenient opening you can simply flip open with your thumb to fill it up under the tap (unlike previous jugs where one would have had to remove the whole top. Also I thought that the filters would be crazy expensive but no; they’re sooo cheap compared to bottled water AND they are environmentally friendly #SaveTheTurtlessmall CONS: I wish there’d be a little flap to cover the opening from which the water is poured out from. It might be very small opening but there could still be a little something landing in it (might just be my OCD)

BRITA Style XL Water Filter Jug: One product I cannot live without!
This 3.6 litre water filter jug holds the equivalent of 6 pints of water. Combined with its modern aesthetics and practical use, this is BRITA’s best jug to date. It is one of my daily products, I cannot live without!Whether you drink a cuppa tea, coffee or sip a glass of water, neat; you get purified water. The filtration also protects your kettle or coffee machine from limescale build up.As well as hot and cold drinks, I also use BRITA for cooking. I add the filtered water to sauce pans full of pasta or spaghetti. Mamma Mia!! Wherever and whenever I need purified water, BRITA steps in and makes my day!BRITA filtered water tastes as great, if not better than bottled water too. Not only is the taste a benefit, but the cost needs a mention! I used to spend ten times as much on bottled water. And all that plastic! Instead, I now buy six BRITA MAXTRA+ water filter cartridges, every six months. Then I give Greta Thunberg a virtual high-five!I love the smart modern design. It looks outstanding! And the Smart Light LED makes it easy to know when to change the filter. The LED will communicate the filter’s effectiveness based on your usage, not time.To enable this feature all you have to do is hold down the Smart Light LED button for 5-10 seconds. As you pour, the LED will change and remain green. This shows your water is being filtered. The LED will turn off when your filter is not in use. When the filter is losing its effectiveness, as you pour, the LED changes to orange. This gives you a heads-up that your filter is due for a change. At this stage, I can still get another 25-30 pints. This lasts me about a week at 6 pints a day. This traffic light system concludes with a red LED. When you see this, it is time to change the filter. You can ignore the light for a few days. But, it is best to change the filter as soon as you see the red light to get the best result. When you change the filter, remember to reset the LED. Hold down the Smart Light LED button again, for 5-10 seconds and it will revert to the green LED.I cannot recommend the BRITA Style XL 3.6L Water Filter Jug enough! Don’t hesitate, buy one today! The customer support team is also fantastic; world-class, in fact. If you have a query or need support, their answers are quick and they provide you with a brilliant solution. It is such a genuine pleasure to engage with this company. If you liked my review, be sure to raise a glass and celebrate by pressing the helpful button below. Cheers!

super good looking
Had a "normal" Brita before. This one looks much much sleeker. Really like a design object on our table, not a cheap piece of plastic.I went for an XL this time, which avoids having to fill it every two glasses. But you have to take into account the weight: because of the balance of the jug, lifting 1.5 liters of water in it feels heavier than lifting a mineral water bottle.I hope that the plastic will not get water stains like the previous one did.

Impossible to clean Algae from funnel bottom
Loved it, until we realised it's infested with toxic algae. It's impossible to clean the bottom of the funnel since the white valve and the funnel don't separate.Brita offers a supposedly easy way of ordering replacement parts but instead of sending a replacement funnel they've been arguing over email for a week and now want me to send them back the whole jug at my own expense.. So much hassle and time wasting.

Great jug
I am very happy with it. I wanted a big size jug, because we use so much water anything smaller is a pain. It is easy to use, I am not sure how the blinking sensor measures things (too lazy to read the manual :-) ), but don't care that much. I can tell when I need to change the filter from the state of the kettle (at some point limescale starts building up), so I don't need any reminders when to do it. I love how it pours water into the kettle, a solid generous flow, my previous jug had a tiny opening, it took forever. Really happy with it. I just hope it doesn't crack, the plastic seems a bit thin, but maybe it is stronger than it looks. Fingers crossed.

Good in principle, but they break in normal use
I have had three of these. It's not used heavily, never put in the dishwasher, and always handled carefully. The first lasted only a few months before it cracked and split. Amazon stepped up and replaced it. The second - a few more months and the handle cracked and fell off. This time, it took six weeks for Brita customer services to send a replacement. And now this last one is cracking around the pourer - the plastic has split either side of it. Good concept, but the plastic is not up to the job.
