Tea Forte BLACK CURRANT Loose Leaf Black Tea, 3.5 Ounce Tea Tin

The package is very nice, but I did not like this tea at all.If you look at the description, you will notice that this tea has "natural flavors" listed as one of the ingredients. Thanks to Amazon for mentioning it, but I honestly did not pay any attention to the description while buying this tea. The only reason I looked at the ingredients because after my first sip I felt some strange aftertaste and when I smelled my tea it had some pretty strong artificial aroma. It was almost perfume-like and had nothing to do with blackcurrant. Basically, whatever "natural flavors" Tea Forte added, absolutely did not work for me. It maybe different for other people, so if you have a chance, try it somewhere else before making this purchase.I'm not giving up on this company since Darjeeling from tea Forte was absolutely fabulous, but I won't be buying any teas from them with "natural flavors" added to them. I know many companies add different flavors to their fruit teas, but I guess some of them are better at capturing natural flavors than others.I'm still waiting for Haas Haas to open at least one store in USA because shipping from Austria is quite expensive. I believe they have the best fruit teas (real dried fruits inside) and I would love to have an option to buy small quantities in order to try them all. I'm not associated with Haas Haas - just love their raspberry and strawberry teas.

I was first introduced to Tea Forte during an Afternoon Tea at a very fancy resort and liked it very much. So I decided to look for it at retail stores. I found a local store that carried some varieties, and I've enjoyed all that I've tried so far. They do not carry the Black Current tea however, and so I had to order it from Amazon. It's a great tea, but Amazon's price is not so great. My local store - AJ's - discounts the Tea Forte brand quite a bit, but Amazon sells it at full retail. So if you can find it locally where you live, you'll probably be better off.

The first several times I ordered this product it was fantastic. In my opinion, they have now downgraded their content. I have to use twice or more the amount of loose leaf to get an black current flavor. This may explain some of the comments about "not much black currant flavor."It is still a good tea, just much weaker than it started to be a year or so ago. :(

I have tasted other brand black currant teas, and Tea Forte's Black Currant is by far the best tasting. It has depth, but is still light and refreshing. It's not over powering or sweet as others. I have found if you steep too long (as in several minutes when or if you forget about it), it gets quite strong, yet is still pleasant to drink. A shorter steep of 2-minutes or so is perfect for me. Try and experiment with steeping time; you can't lose however long (or not) you do it. I hope Tea Forte' keeps this flavor in stock always.

I got this tea for my husband as he loves the black currant flavored tea. But he said it didn't have as much flavor as the other black currant tea we buy (Ahmad brand in tea bags, also from Amazon). It smells so good though. It has such a pretty tin also, which is a big plus because I love the look of pretty tea tins in our tea station.

this is my second 10 of your tea. I ordered black currant. It is truly a delicious tasting cup. I did not know what I was missing until I tried your product. I will never buy store but tea and a box again. Thanks for such a delicious cup. The aroma is wonderful and I don’t even need sugar because the fruity notes. Thanks again.

absolutely delicious served hot! Probablt great iced too but have yet to try it?

I love the blackcurrant flavor of this tea. It is a black tea so can get a little strong if left to steep for too long. The blackcurrant flavor is delicate and yet noticeable. One of my favorite flavored teas. Comes in an airtight, reusable canister.

I first found this tea at a random little pharmacy's gift section. It was on sale, so I bought a tin as a gift to myself. I had a cup or two every day for about a month and soon was looking for more. This particular flavour has been tough to find anywhere besides Amazon and the company website (the latter being out of country for me) but the prices are pretty reasonable considering the quality and how much of it is in the tin. On my second tin now. Shared a few cups with friends and family and got a very positive response as well. Will definitely be buying again.

Totally addicted to this stuff and I love anything black currant. I find though that I need to add more to steep it in order to make the flavour stronger, but it's still nice and soothing.

Just the right balance of strength and sweet so good
