Berghaus Women's Glissade III InterActive Gore-Tex Jacket

I'm not an expert on outdoor clothing and have only owned one second hand raincoat in the past so I was quite overwhelmed by the options out there. After MUCH deliberation over which raincoat to buy I finally opted for the Glissade III. I knew I wanted Gore Tex and I prefer longer jackets so they were my main criteria. I'm writing this review as I found it really difficult to judge which size I should get as no other reviews helped out in that regard. I didn't know whether to order my regular size or to size up. I am a UK size 8 but would say I have broad-ish shoulders and slightly long arms so I initially ordered the size 10 to be on the safe side. I felt there was just too much room in the 10, even with my biggest knit jumper on so exchanged it for the 8. I'm glad I did and I've just had my first outing in it today and I love it. I would say the jacket is true to size and there is no need to size up, unless you have VERY broad shoulders and like your sleeves long. In saying that even though the 10 was quite baggy I would've been happy to keep it if the smaller size had sold out. I really like the elastic waist adjustment as it makes the jacket slightly more feminine and stylish, as much as a raincoat can be anyway. The length is great, just about covers my bum. I got the Cherry Ripe colour, which is very nice. I was worried it'd be too bright pink but it is more dark purple. On some photos online the jacket looked quite shiny but thankfully it has more of a matte finish. The hood is perfect as it has a peak and doesn't come too far forward, and it is also adjustable around the face and the back of the head. The amazon price is amazing considering the RRP is £200. I would highly recommend this jacket! Fast delivery too, and no problems with exchange. Disclaimer: I have not worn this jacket hiking in bad weather yet but I am confident it will perform as Berghaus and Gore Tex are reliable and it feels great quality.

I managed to get the size 10 for a fantastic price on Amazon, a fraction of the retail price (£200). The coat fits really well, a lovely big hood which keeps the rain out and a slightly longer length which stops rain drenching the tops of my trousers. Have worn this out several times in the recent torrential rain and was really impressed, the rain simply runs off and doesn't soak in at all. Very pleased with my purchase and would recommend.

Like the color! The sizing was accurate being the UK sizing. Quality made. My wife is pleased with the purchase. Like the longer length as it covers the hips and keeps you drier without putting on the pants.

I'm sorry to say that I had to return my jacket as one of the inner zips was faulty. I decided not to bother with a replacement as the colour was not as shown in the photo, although had the zip been ok I would have kept it irrespective of the colour difference. Full marks to Amazon for the easy return facility and for the very speedy refund to my account.

Disappointed with this. Don't know how it would have performed as it went straight back. I ordered as a replacement for my old Berghaus but it wasn't nearly as good. Very lightweight, too short, no internal cuff to keep the wind and rain out, the hood was flimsy and I imagine it wouldn't have kept the rain off my face. I like Berghaus as my last jacket lasted years but will visit shops instead of internet ordering.

My wife is absolutely delighted with this jacket which fits well and is warm and waterproof-her older one was leaking somewhat. She is now contemplating buying the fleece that fits inside it.A very good purchase and good service.
