Slips down a treat
A very nice stout indeed. Full body & flavour, nice & smooth. Slips down a treat with steak pie.

Taste and flavour
Great tasting stout with deep flavour, a change from Guinness.

Belheaven
Drink extremely cold, directly from the bottle---a smokey quaffing, inordinately refreshing when dry of mouth---simply gorgeous.Have not gained access to the pub draught primarily because on their rarity---unlike more infamous brands.Notwithstanding, this is a wonderful decision to make.

Not Impressed at All
I love stouts and porters; not this stout. Tried it at different temperatures, to find no impovement. Very thin in texture and almost tasteless, except for a slight smokey burnt toast taste. More accurately the scraping from burnt toast, less the bread. This is really not a pleasant drink. This is the worse stout or porter I have ever tasted, buy a ling way.My favorites are / were: Sadlers Mud City Stout (dissapeared after a company take over - boo!) ; Guinness West Indies Porter. Black Sheep Milk Stout is a decent drink, too. Not a sweet as many milk stouts; but pretty tasty nonetheless.Brew Dog Black Heart Stout is pretty nice, if you let it breath a bit. I don't get the fashion for serving stouts from the fridge, anyway. 12° degrees used to be the norm for many non largers (even for draft pump Guinness); for me refrigerated stout kills the lighter flavours.
