A solid pair of biking headphones
I've been looking for a good pair of headphones to wear while riding my bike. They needed to fit comfortably on my fairly large head along with my glasses and helmet. They also needed to not block out my hearing of the outside world. My Aftershokz fit the bill perfectly.Compared to other cheap bluetooth headphones I've tried, including a pair of cheap bone conduction headphones that broke after 6 months, they're much more comfortable. The volume buttons are easy to distinguish by feel and control without thinking about. They're also incredibly light. The elephant in the room here is sound quality. I'd say my Airshokz easily sound basically as good as a cheap pair of earbuds that I'd be using otherwise. That's damning a bit by faint praise for a pair of $150 headphones, but it's pretty much a direct result of being able to hear the world around you. I mostly listen to audio books and podcasts, which sound perfectly fine, music is a bit lower fidelity, and it's a lot easier for the outside world to drown out the sound from the headphones. On my bike, that's a trade off that's pretty easy to accept. Honestly, the sound quality is good enough that I've found myself wearing them while doing chores around the house too because they're so much more convenient and comfortable than my big over ear headphones with a long wire that gets caught on everything. So for my particular use, they're absolutely worth the money, but I probably wouldn't shell out this much unless being able to hear the world and/or weight were very high on your priority list.

Best wireless headphones for running or walking
I have used at least 5 different pairs/types of wireless headphones to use while running and walking. The ear buds that go in my ears hurt my ears after about 30 minutes. The AfterShokz Trekz bone conduction headphones are hands down the best pair I have ever owned! They do not hurt my ears at all! (Even after 4 hrs of use!) I wear glasses, and sometimes wear sunglasses over those, and these headphones do not interfere with those in any way. I don't even realize I am wearing them. I even wear a beanie hat or a baseball hat with a visor, and still no problem. I have seen others say to get the minis if they have a small head. I am 5'1" and the size of these do not bother me at all. They hang down in the back. You would think that would bother me, but it does not. They don't rub on my shirt collar. Maybe because they hang down a little, that is why they don't bother me with glasses on or a hat, as they don't seem to interfere with anything. I can hear the music and still hear things going on around me, like traffic. I hang them around my neck and keep them "off" at races until just before the race starts. I make sure to charge them the night before a race. I have used them up to 4 hrs at the time and still had a charge. They paired really easily with my android phone. I have also used them to answer calls while running. It was super easy, and I could hear everything very clearly. I don't know if they are waterproof, but I ran a race recently in the rain, and they worked fine. I have the paired with my phone, which stays in my hip pouch when I run. I listen to podcasts and music. There are some podcasts where you can't hear the speakers properly and some that I have no problem hearing. Some of my prior wireless headphones had issues with fading in and out, or temporarily losing the bluetooth connection. I have never once had that happen with these. I highly recommend these headphones!

very, very comfortable, & overcomes my old-age loss of higher frequency sounds
Good: Very lightweight, and very comfortable; Really nice to have nothing in the ear canal; I've lost a lot of my high-frequency hearing over the years, but the bone conduction seems to bypass that problem, which made the sound seem "tinny" until I adjusted my equalizer (on my phone); The controls are simple to use for power and volume, but anything fancier is messy on the device (so I just use my player for shuffle, replay, etc); It's very easy to charge, but would be nice if it used the newer type C connector.Bad: If you like over-accented bass, look elsewhere; Working out at the gym, simple movements of the head & shoulders can shift the position of the transducers slightly, making noticeable changes in the sound volume.Update: I read the little pamphlet again, and learned how to skip to the next track, which is easy. Also, I have 3 "sport" headphones: this AfterShokz, a Sony Waterproof Walkman, and a Plantronix Backbeat. The AfterShokz sits outside the ear completely; the Sony fills the ear, but has an external mic on each earbud which can be amplified and fed to the ears; and the Plantronix doesn't fill the ear canal. In theory, each of these mechanisms will let you hear ambient sounds, along with your music. In practice, unless you have the music turned to a whisper, you can't really hear anything else. The music overwhelms your ears and brain, and you shut out everything else. Just sayin'

Solid running headphones for outdoor use
I've used these running outdoors every day for the last 2 months, and they're pretty remarkable. I run very early or later at night in an urban area, and along the waterfront in some very isolated parks.Outdoors, you'll notice within minutes that these are close in sound quality to ear buds with comply tips. The music coming through bone conduction while your ears are free to listen to traffic and other sounds around you must be processed differently by the ears. Outdoors the sound is almost on par with my previous pairs of Jaybird X2 and X3's (but with Jaybirds come safety concerns with lack of awareness about what's happening around you.) If you're using these for music indoors, you'll likely be disappointed and may even mistake their sound quality capability, but they're great for podcasts and audiobooks. They do come with foam ear plugs if you'd like to use them indoors and that might make a difference, however I haven't tried itThere are NO DROPOUTS (!!) with a Garmin 645, so if you've been plagued by that like I was, these are a great solution. These fit great with sunglasses, a ball cap, or on their own. For winter running, I've moved to a bigger touque on the coldest days to accommodate the wrap around portion inside and keep my ears warm, and when I wear a band to cover my ears I put them on after the band in place and slip them under it. Once they're on you'll forget their there, and you'll never need to adjust these like I have with my previous wireless buds. I was used to them in a matter of days. There is external sound bleed that won't bother you, but will be audible to people around you if you have them turned up. If you're running solo you won't need to worry about it, and if you're running with someone else I've really enjoyed keeping the music low and carrying on a conversation with my running partner as normal, hearing both the music and the conversation with ease. Very cool.I've sweat all over these, run in rain, sleet, snow, etc and nothing has affected them and they wipe clean. These charge quickly and the battery lasts for a long time.I highly recommend them for running outdoors and they're an excellent solution for use with a Garmin 645

Great for running - glad I got them!
Having now had these a few weeks I thought I’d leave some real life tested feedback rather than “I’ve just opened the box and worn them in my front room” feedback. I will also state that I purchased these with my own money and have not been sponsored/given them for free or coerced into leaving a feedback - I’m just a picky individual who likes a helpful review when buying new tech and feel it’s only fair to leave feedback for others to see where deserved.Starting with the negatives:One size fits all means if you have a smaller head the band will sit away from the back of your head. I’d have like to have had it sit snug around my head but it’s really not the end of the world and doesn’t really affect their operation.Sound quality versus ‘in-ear’ head phones is not on the same level. Whilst music is definitely listenable, they aren’t going to give you the same level of sound definition; there is a loss of bass and sometimes the finer details are missed (imagine watching a film and not hearing quiet footsteps on a path, whereas with normal headphones you’d hear that). At max volume you do get a weird vibration on your head where the speakers sit, but if you have it at the volume you will probably do yourself a mischief anyway!Positives:They are comfortable when running, very little movement and therefore not a great deal of adjustment needed, resulting in being able to maintain better concentration during exercise.Very good battery life. I’m training at marathon distance so knowing these will last as long as me is important!Build quality is very good; considering how light they are, they appear to be very robust.Connectivity to my phone has not been an issue, I run with my phone in a waist belt and the connection has never dropped. The open ear aspect is what swayed me to take the jump and buy these as many races now won’t allow you to run with headphones in, but will allow bone conducting as long as your ears are open. Having a good sense of your surroundings and being able to chat as you run but still hear music is also a bonus! So in summary, don’t buy these if you want decent sound quality to watch movies/tv or play games on your commute. Do buy these if you want a decent wireless set up for running. I’m keeping my in ear headphones for daily wear but these are now my go-to option for exercise.
