Excellent!
The DS came in great condition along with a charger. It holds its charge really well so that makes me think they’re replacing the batteries before they sell. I am using it to play my old Pokémon Leaf Green version through the GBA slot and it’s working great. There are some minor scratches on the shell but that’s to be expected with old school tech like this. Don’t let any bad reviews fool you. It appears the seller has stepped up the game to address those issues. Thanks for letting me re-experience a childhood pastime (in my early 30s)!

A really awesome game system/ Handheld.
I bought a DS last year, because I had a lot of time to kill at school/ college, and I was bored of listening to my Ipod/ Facebook, So I bought a original one because its cheaper. I thought buying a DS would be a fun time waster but, In my opinion this is one of my favorite game systems. Part of the reason is that it has in my opinion a really big, and diverse library. it has something for everybody, RPGs/ Shooters/ Adventure/ Sports/ Puzzles, for me it got me into point and click adventure games. The product itself is pretty good, it isn't as slim, or lighting as good as a Lite, but it plays just fine, to me it is more comfortable than the GBA, and I liked the bigger screen, the touch controls are also pretty good, (Though some games do overuse them). All in all it is a great system.

A Young Adult's Perspective--Nostalgia?
When I was younger, I owned a black Nintendo DS Lite and played it quite a bit. I sold it sometime ago, and didn't miss the console itself at all. More recently, I experienced strong nostalgia for Nintendo franchises and ultimately bought the cheapest Nintendo DS I could find. I purchased a copy of Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon to go with it--Fire Emblem had always been one of my favorite games, but I missed out on Shadow Dragon when I had my DS Lite. There's nothing particularly impressive, or likable, about the DS itself. The buttons are small and uncomfortable for an adult user. Additionally, the stylus is thin and in an uncomfortable spot on the back of the console. This model particularly is pretty darn ugly, but it does fit in the hands more comfortably than later DS models, and Gameboy Advance cartridges don't stick out of their slot like they do on Lite Models. The Dual-Screen idea in general strikes me as a gimmicky, unnecessary, and useless, as does the touch-screen. More often than naught, there's very little need in a game for the second screen. Games that require the use of the touch-screen and the buttons at the same time really are a pain. Games that forced the use of both screens or that needlessly incorporated the touch-screen in some way were often even worse. The folding aspect makes the DS feel less like a video game console and more like a toy--though it does manage to keep the screens from being scratched up as much as the GBA or PSP.But I didn't by the DS for the DS--I bought it for the Nintendo games. Unfortunately, the DS also has a pitiful library. Most of its games are shovelware, trash that shouldn't be bothered with, the likes of which now also flood iOS and Android marketplaces. Many of my favorite Nintendo franchises had much better iterations on different consoles. Of all the DS games I played, the Legend of Zelda games were the only ones that I felt incorporated the touch-screen properly, but the constant use of touch controls in these Zelda games makes them feel more tedious than fun. The aforementioned Fire Emblem game is absolutely overshadowed by its Gameboy Advance predecessors. I couldn't even get through StarFox Command, and Super Mario Bros 64 DS's camera and controls are sometimes a nightmare. In many ways, the DS is a massive leap forward from the GBA--and in fact, it sold more than enough to assure Nintendo they were doing something right. It's just sad to see the same design and game mistakes being made on the new 3DS.Before I bought the DS, I won't lie to you--I struggled with wondering if it was age appropriate. More than anything, the Nintendo DS, in terms of its library and hardware, seems like a device targeted at much younger gamers. Nostalgia got the better of me, and the desire to revisit my old favorite Nintendo characters overruled the idea of embarrassment. But, as a 20 year old, I AM more than a little embarrassed to own this console--and I would definitely not be caught with it in public. Yes, my friends laughed at me. And yes, after I had played through Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, I regretted my purchase and felt as though my money had been wasted. Even if I don't like touch controls, there's a reason why more people are playing games on their phones than handheld consoles nowadays. If you're past your teens and are looking to hop in on the handheld console action, the Nintendo DS is not a console I'd say is worth investigating. The PlayStation Portable or PlayStation Vita might be more up your alley. However, if you're really craving some Nintendo goodness, perhaps the DS, which can play GBA games, could be right for you. But maybe you should just buy an actual GBA instead!

Not working, fuzzy picture and unreliable. We wish to return the Nintendo DS Titanium
Since we received this item ithas posed a problem to us. First the item said we needed a DS card, then after your suggestion we installed the game before we started the item. Then it said we needed something else. Now the picture is fuzzy, not well enough to use. We wish to return the item for a refund. We are very dissatisfied with this item and do not recomend it to anyone. I plan to take it to a local GameStop store and see if they can tell me what is wrong with it. If I do this, I will probably be charged a testing fee by the store, but at least we can find out if it is a dud. Please be assured that we paid $80 and this is not a small amount for me. I am retired on Social Security, the money I pay I do not spend unwisely. Please be assured that we will return the item for a refund. Please let me know how to return the item. Josephine Perez

original D S
I chose this rating because my 12 year old grandson loves this system. The PROS:you can play gameboy games as well as D S games it's also wifi enabled and there are a WHOLE LOT of games for this.CONS: about the only accessories you can find for this are the chargers, stylus, and I think thats about it.. I have asked at game stores and walmart and best buy about cases and nerf cases and they all told me you can't find things like that for the D S anymore.$50.00 is a bit much for an item you can't find protective cases or any cases for that matter. D S lite cases are a tad small the D S barely fits and there is no place for the cord but it serves it's purpose.

Perfect
It looks brand new, the buttons feel great and it's much more enjoyable to hold than my Lite and feels like a more true Nintendo product for the style. If I had only had the money for the original DS at the time, I missed out...playing GBA is a breeze too, tho I wish they had a GBA link cable slot on it, kind of upset that wasn't considered...if they really wanted true backwards compatibility that is.But overall, great condition, plays well and I'm filled with nostalgia over it, makes me wish their future handhelds looked this awesome and not plain...
