It's a pretty good product except it needs an inch of extra space on top. I couldn't fit my flat file jackets inside the folders with the lid completely on.To Manufacture: All you would need to do is add an inch on top and I'd give it a 5-star review.

You know how much paperwork I have in my house? Enough to fit in this one box. That's it.First off, depending on who you are, you really don't need to save every bill or every statement or every piece of mail you get. The first thing I do when I get mail is asking myself, "how much of this can I throw away?" Most times, the answer is all of it. That's how I've minimized paperwork. If I ever need to find something, there is only one place to look.— THE BOX —This is a nice transparent file box with a gray locking lid. Having a filing box requires you to get hanging file folders. On the left and right side are plastic edges that allow you to hang these folders on the edges [see photos].One issue with this box is, if you use hanging folders with plastic labels at the top, they will make the lid bulk up because it's not made for that extra 0.5 inch height. It's not a big deal because the labels bend backwards when the lid is on. But please be aware of this.This is a handy storage box for all my paperwork. It's lasted me for years and I see it continuing to do that. Recommended.

I needed something that was good for holding letter and legal sized files. This was it. I chose this storage tote because of the locking lid system and the clear sides. The locking lids are useful if you stock storage totes on top of each other because I find they don't fold in or buckel as much. The clear sides are great because when you have a shed, basement or garage filled with storage bins its nice to know what is inside. These storage totes can be used for really anything...even camping storage considering the locking lid would prevent small animals like raccoons from opening them up. Overall with the solid plastic constuction and being built to be durable, I am pleased with it. Please note I only gave it 4/5 stars because a trip to some retail stores have got this item beat in terms of a better price.

I recently decommisioned my legal sized filing cabinet. Takes up a lot of space. And transitioned to these. I could easily move my hanging leagal files into these and stack them in a closet or attick very easily. They are not super heavy duty, but good enough for my purposes. They will hold legal and letter simply by changing the orientation of the box. I personally used them for legal sized hanging files. Would h ave liked a little more room on top where lid attaches. Currently, anything a little oversized that extends to high, prevents the cover from seating. There is enough room for simple lable attachemnts to hanging file folders.

I ordered this item with some fear as I was concerned about the negative reviews that I had read. So far, I can only say that I am very pleased. It does indeed hold legal sized files, on sliding bars, and there is room for the top to go on as well. It is light weight enough so that moving it from place to place to accommodate a sporadic work schedule is very convenient. True it is not totally full of files, but so far it is versatile and meets my needs. I was also pleasantly surprised to note that the box is also useable for a letter size file as well, making it twice as useful it would seem. That is, when my current project requiring legal size files is over, I can still use the box for letter size work.

I found this storage box at STAPLES in Little Rock, Arkansas. More than a year later I unsuccessfully looked there again. After calls to other stores inicluding W-M, I searched on-line, was referred to Amazon and found the exact unit.Mfd. in Canada, it's a quality product. Cover locks tight, handles molded into the locks and a 'snap' closing says 'it's secure'.For such a sturdy unit, it is light weight enough to pick up.Best of all: The price was no higher ($19.99) than at Staples.

Good, but not as sturdy as i had hoped for

Great file box. Light and sturdy. The top clicks in to the base very snug. Hanging files are easily shifted back and forth. Deep enough that hanging file tabs at the top do not get bent or damaged when the lid is put on. Very pleased with this purchase.

I purchased two of these to file my kids school projects and keepsakes. They worked well for the use with hanging files I had on hand. I am disappointed in the durability of them though. One fell, onto carpet, from table height. The corner of the tote and lid are both broken. It isn't even one third full. I can't imagine the damage it would have sustained had it been full.

These are great letter file storage boxes. Hanging folders stay hanging when moving the box around and they stay sealed when locked..

It is just what I was looking for I will use it to file stencils and tole painting patterns.

This product was exactly as advertised and work well for the intended purpose
