Not Hitachi. Received a refurbished metabo hpt gun.
Not Hitachi. Received a refurbished metabo hpt gun. The new metabo one is less than $20 more than this refurbished one. Feeling pretty cheated and con'd as the picture shows a Hitachi gun and the description says it's a Hitachi gun. Probably sending it back. That all said. It's on good shape for a used tool. Couple scratches but nothing to bad. Based on the wear inside the firing changer area I don't think this thing even shot a whole roll off for it's previous owner. I may contact metabo hpt and see what the original manufacture date was based on the serial number. Thinking it's possible it was a Hitachi gun and the now just slap the metabo hpt stickers on the refurb ones being sold. Gonna have to look in to it. But beware, it does not say Hitachi anywhere in the tool itself. It was also packaged and padded poorly and the included safety glasses broke during shipment from being crushed by the tool inside the box. Better than the other way around, but really there should be more padding than a bit of brown paper IMO.

Seriously scratched up, obviously well used, some new parts - would not purchase again
This item isn't like any refurbished item I've seen. Quite the exposed metal road rash across both sides of the body. Some parts of the trigger and trigger assembly look new. Well worn bottom cassette and the nose guard is not clear. All things you would expect to be replaced. Honestly - this looks "used" not refurbished. When rain stops here in CA, we'll see if it shoots. And had I known it was going to look like this - I would have paid the extra $100 for a new one.

Durability
Hitachi framing nailers and siding guns have been extremely reliable. Own Senco and some Durafast nailers. The Hitachis have been outstanding in performance and reliability. This refurbished NV65AH was indistinguishable from a totally new unit. Surprised me. Not a scratch on the finish. It also works like a new gun would be expected to work Great value to be sure.

Very good nail gun.
This is a very good nail gun. Good for siding and fencing. Only jammed once in the whole time I've been using it.
