Very hard to build. Pieces don't go together properly and I had to reshape some. Instructions are well made and easy to follow.

Missing lots of parts

Very frustrating build experience, the clutch on the grey sections around the fan is very loose and will definitely fall off repeatedly while you’re building the surrounding sections, so look forward to that. Some of the stickers also span multiple bricks so won’t survive a rebuild. The two doors on the side absolutely will not sit flush when closed. That said, for the money it’s not a bad little model even if it doesn’t look even slightly authentic lol

This aviation engine is, in theory, a real talking point style display piece. In practice it is quite prone to falling apart if you look at it wrong. This means it is hard to have on display unless in a low traffic area, and what's the point of that? The build is separated in to 6 distinct sections and all the bricks you need for each section come in numbered, heat sealed bags - I did like that you get one huge bag with all the parts inside, the smaller pieces are kept separate in their own plastic bags inside this larger bag. Does make it much easier to find the necessary pieces for the section you are working on. Comes with a sticker sheet and I am still dithering about whether or not to use them on the housing part. This is because they go across multiple bricks which I really don't like. For now I have left it bare as I am not sure whether or not to break it back down as bits do keep falling off. The instruction booklet is clearly illustrated. There were one or two bits that I got slightly confused by as it doesn't always tell you when the item has been rotated. Definitely takes much longer than you would think to build. I worked on it over several weeks, some days only for an hour or so, others for longer periods. I did forget to log all my times down so don't have an actual build time but it was a long time in the building. The bricks themselves feel nice and I had no missing pieces. The clutch isn't great so it does need to be handled delicately when building it. Overall a challenging build that I generally enjoyed but not stable enough.

On the one hand, I very much enjoy nordic-brick-style modelling of engines. They tend to be fascinating lessons in how to represent complex structures with simpler components and this one has more moving parts than most. On the other hand, this one has several of the pitfalls of third party sets on full display. Many of the stickers cover multiple pieces and thus mean this is an assemble-once model if you ever use them. Some of the fitment is quite loose, and the construction isn't near as solid as the original brand tries for, meaning this is a shelf piece rather than one you'll want to handle with, lowers the play value a fair bit. I love the motorised movement, but the number of AA batteries required is rather excessive, I'd only recommend this one on sale, not at its full price.

My son put this together pretty quick, he said it was a challenge. He has it displayed on his shelf with some other Lego builds. It’s pretty cool how you can turn it on and see everything moving inside..

Took me about a day to build the whole thing, amazing display and unique, you will never get something similar from Lego

Aun no lo hemos montado pero la verdad es que se ve de muy buena calidad, va todo empaquetado en sus correspondientes bolsas y con sus instrucciones.

I concorrenti Lego ormai si sbizzarriscono negli ambiti più disparati per poter emergere e distinguersi sia dalla massa che dalla marca leader del settore: questa volta ho a che fare per la prima volta nella mia vita con la Reobrix che presenta addirittura la turbina di un aereo realmente funzionante grazie ad un motorino e ad un alimentatore (che purtroppo richiede ben 6 batterie AA). Le dimensioni della turbina sono notevoli: 16cm di larghezza, 27cm di profondità e 29cm di altezza, ovviamente incluso il sostegno che la sorregge e che ne fa da espositore (anch'esso da assemblare, ovviamente). Una volta costruita, si può aprire, ammirare in tutti i suoi particolari che rispecchiano quasi nel dettaglio quelli di un motore vero, e vederla in funzione: questo grazie ai ben 1813 pezzi che la costituiscono e che garantiscono anche diverse ore di divertimento. Non viene posta dal produttore molta attenzione per l'ambiente, visto che utilizza 6 grandi sacchettoni in plastica per contenere un'altra infinità di sacchettini più piccoli; certo, questa divisione è una manna dal cielo in fase di assemblaggio visto che cataloga perfettamente i pezzi permettendo di aprire il sacchetto giusto solo quando richiesto dalle istruzioni, ma dall'altro lato causa un accumulo di rifiuti di plastica non indifferente. Come ciliegina sulla torta, si trovano anche diversi adesivi che andranno a decorare la carena, altrimenti abbastanza piatta e bruttina da vedere. Le istruzioni sono un vero e proprio libro, realizzate benissimo, con immagini grandi, dettagliate e che rispecchiano i colori reali dei componenti. La scarsa varietà di colori è purtroppo l'unico punto dolente dato che si trovano quasi esclusivamente pezzi neri (per il piedistallo), bianchi (per la carena) e grigi (per le parti meccaniche), il tutto è però controbilanciato dalla varietà dei pezzi, modi sempre nuovi per affrontare l'assemblaggio e dal tempo occupato dalla procedura. Il fatto che molti componenti siano di derivazione Lego Technics fa piazzare questo modello nella categoria 14+ che ritengo opportuna, vista la complessità della costruzione, segnalata anche sulla scatola dall'indice di difficoltà di 5 su 5. Per chi, come me, è una persona curiosa che ama sapere come sono fatte e come funzionano le cose, questo è un ottimo acquisto. Il prezzo è in linea con la quantità di pezzi nella confezione, non si può pretendere di meno.
