BladesUSA Hk-2007 Fantasy Short Sword 20-Inch Overall

I honestly shocked beyond belief that this was only $20. I didn't know what to expect when I ordered, expecting to be disappointed or not to get everything that I thought we described in other reviews.However, THIS is definitely worth the price and you will not regret getting it! From the hilt to the blade itself, both are made of metal; the handle being metal where the blade is steel for sure. There is a cool decor attached to the handle that really comes with it and the overall design on the hilt is very attractive, adding a few more thumbs up to your pirate costume if you are looking to make one for whatever reason. Other than that, if you are looking to collect shortsword or daggers, this is a great addition you shouldn't miss!The sheath is reinforced plastic but is made to seem almost look/feel like wood. It's colored a deep brown/black that holds your weapon well, making the sword look just as good when sheathed or out. Again, the decor on the sheath is metal with good designs on them too! Overall, this pirate like weapon feels like it would more come from Arabian/Ottoman standards compared to European. THIS is a good BUY, overall!

My one major complaint - which is entirely on me - is that I thought the "gem" on the hilt was red, when it's actually blue. Looking back, I see no clear picture of it. Who knows where I got that idea. Anyway, for thirty dollars, I'm very happy with it. You could find a better made or more "realistic" sword, but you can't beat this for the price. It has a fun, fantasy vibe to it and feels solid and sturdy, definitely not sword fight level sturdy but just perfect as a prop. It will be a great addition to a planned pirate costume.

Bought this for a pirate costume because I hate the cheap plastic/foam prop swords. I was really impressed with it for the very low price. It’s heavy and looks great. It’s not a toy though, so it has to be handled carefully.

This is a beautiful sword. It is perfect for my pirate costume for RenFest. It is completely metal from the hilt to the blade. The sheath is plastic made to look like wood but it is also sturdy with metal accents. It is the best purchase I have made. A great decoration for after you're done using it as well.

In the scabbard it's actually quite nice and will make an excellent cosplay piece, but the blade is very disappointing.Now I wasn't expecting a real blade or anything, but this just missed the mark. The grind is noticeably uneven in a couple places, and there was no finishing; looks like they just stopped at 80ish grit. I was able to polish it up a bit with sand paper, which also helped round off the corners, but I wasn't able to get all the tool marks off. There was also an edge on it so I sanded that off as well since I am just going to use it as a costume piece.Subjectively I'm not a fan of the thin fuller on this piece, it gives it too modern a look. And the ricaso seems comicly large at almost two inches.

Very impressive looking and feeling sword. I bought it for my wife's pirate garb and it is perfect! Light weight, easy to carry, and very decorative. The blade is semi-sharp but clearly can be honed to a razor's edge.

As other reviews have said, mine came with a shattered gem as well. This really didn't bother me personally too much, as I intended on removing the gem and slotting something else anyways.In addition, mine came with a gold/blue frilly piece which I will have to replace, as I was expecting the gold/red in the photo.Overall still a great value for the money.

Definitely a sturdy sword. The metal is just as intact as I hoped it would be. It's definitely more the length of an extended dagger than an actual sword, but it's beautiful. I love the coloring of the metal.

I wasn't expecting much but this sword has some heft and looks super cool.
