Attack the trails with all of the extra tools but none of the extra weight in the minimus trail 10v1. We've brought back the favorite fit and feel of the original model, for unparalleled off-road performance. The new upper material allows for a fresh look at the trail 10, while maintaining the essential forefoot toe splay, and midfoot wrap to hold the foot steady through even the most extreme adventures. Underfoot, the Vibram outsole continues with strategically-placed flex grooves to allow for a natural ruh.Your left and right feet may differ in length or width as much as a full size. Be sure to measure and try shoes on both feet, and always buy shoes to fit your larger foot.If your feet seem "between" sizes and you cannot decide which size to select, we suggest you choose the larger size. You can make adjustments for a better fit with socks, insoles, or a different lacing pattern. New Balance, is dedicated to helping athletes achieve their goals. Buy at least 1/2 size up! A lot of people will need the wide. You owe it to yourself to at least try and fit into these shoes.
If you haven't figured it out yet these run small. I wear a 13 and had to go with a 14 2E. Big Feet don't have access to half sizes but a 13.5 may have worked. I use these for hiking and I have never experienced a shoe this comfortable. The toe box on the wide is wonderfully big and the mesh on top is so soft that I forget I'm wearing shoes at times. The picture of the Tornado/Orange is deceiving as it is more of a blue-green color than the blue that shows up on my screen.

Must open them up and lace them around your foot
The 9.5 "2E" is more like a narrow D width. After 15 minutes of wear I realized I had to return them Too bad, because they are amazingly light and look fantastic. What were the New Balance designers thinking??The above negative review was due to my failure to realize how to adjust the shoes. I subsequently bought another pair of 92E and opened them up with the laces completely loose all the way down. Then pulled the laces snug but not tight around my feet. The result was a shoe that fit like a sock! They conform to my foot shape without binding, but without much free play either. I've worn them a lot for trail walks and around town. Very light, cool, comfy, and I've gotten compliments on the looks. Definitely a 5 star shoe if you fit it correctly.

Best performance shoe (for me) hands down
Best shoe ever created! Seriously! Not sure what it is but anytime I run or workout in any other shoe I get extreme back pain that radiates down my leg. I did have bulging disc surgery but the pain usually only comes back when I workout in any other shoes but these. I can run 5 miles with these and no issues but when I run only 2 miles in others, my back pain becomes debilitating. Anyhow, this is all I wear for runs, CrossFit, or simply waking around. When these shoes were discontinued, I wrote new balance a letter on why they need to bring these back. If you are a minimalist runner or fitness guru, there is no other shoe like these... Anyhow, to new balance, please keep manufacturing these...

The band across the front is terrible, period.
My 10v4 Trail Runner has been my go to shoe for a well over a year. I wear it not just for running and working out, but almost all the time. The wide toe box is wonderful and it has enough tread that I don't feel every single pebble as I do in some other more minimalist shoes. Unfortunately, I have worn through the front pretty bad and needed a replacement. Figured I'd go with these since the1. The sizing is not consistent. The 10v4s are just roomy enough at 10.5(D). These? Slightly too short.2. The band across the front of the foot is awful. I'm not sure why it's there. What I do know is that it creates a very tight feel. It's too bad too, because these are better looking than the 10v4s and I like the treads better. To add insult to injury, the 10v4s appear to be available in every size except... 10.5. Awesome.

Quite nice - Not perfect
Pros:Adjustability. The laces cover enough of the foot that you can adjust tightness across the foot to accommodate your activity.Ruggedness. They're quite comfortable for running on rocky trails. The tread is fairly thick. I've completed a few Tough Mudder runs in them and they provided enough traction to run decently enough.Heel-Toe Drop. Being minimal shoes, they've got a nice barefoot feel that works well with a toe strike.Cons:Longevity. They seem to last about 6 months with exclusive trail running (I run about 10 miles a week). If you mistakingly take them on pavement, they wear out VERY quick. They really don't do well on concrete.Overall: I'm on my third pair and I'll likely get another pair after my current ones wear out.

Great looking shoe with break in period.
I had a previous pair of NB Minimus shoes that lasted about 6 years before holes formed in them, so I was ready to put down the money for the newer version. I wore my old pair on and off and I wasn't the most avid runner, but I feel like the old pair were very durable. This pair looks better in terms of design and style. The sole is thicker and has better tread than the previous pair, so it is a little less "barefoot." The shoe seems sturdy. There is some sloppiness to the shoe's construction. Some strings off the orange square stitching are loose. There is some asymmetry to the left and right shoes, but I think that's typical. There is some visible glue on parts of the shoe. The fit was weird for me at first. Like my old pair I ordered half a size up. This size fit perfectly in my old pair, but this new pair irritated the top of my feet when I tied the laces tightly. I had to wear the shoes a little lose for a couple days before I got used to it. I have tightened the laces a little at a time over 2 weeks. It is now pretty comfortable. I suggest walking in them and doing some light running to break them in.Overall, it is a pretty good shoe. I had my reservations about it due to the discomfort, but I am getting used to it over time. Would recommend.

Returned Them Due To The Strap On The Forefoot
I'm normally a 13 M, but based on the reviews, I bought 14 EE, and they were a good fit, although slightly loose in the heel. Unfortunately, the strap over the forefoot ruined the shoe for me so I sent them back without ever running in them. I could feel it rubbing on the outside of my little toes, and also slightly on the top of my foot. I'll stick with my Trail Gloves, which are my favorite shoes for running. I had bought these because of the 4mm drop to give my achilles a break once in a while, but the strap is a deal breaker for me. Good lucking shoes, and seemed well-made.

5 runs in. Great shoe. Runs small.
First of all, I'm a former rock climber and comfortable with a wide variety of fits for shoes. That said, I don't usually listen to reviews that suggest to order a size large. I'd rather have my shoes small and large. In this case there were enough reviews recommending ordering a size large that I ordered a half size large. That was a good call. Barefoot running should really Minnick barefoot running. In order to do that in these shoes, you need a little room in the toebox. In order to get that. You should order a size larger. I've run in it a few times and been wearing them quite a bit for walking around. Really enjoyed them and they feel more robust than earlier variations. I expect that they will hold up for a season or more.
