I've always loved everything about them
I have been a huge advocate of New Balance minimalist shoes for years. I've runs hundreds and hundreds of miles in them with zero issue. I've always loved everything about them, the last pair I owned was reduced to rags because I loved them so much I didn't ever want another pair. This shoe is terrible. Absolutely terrible. There is a hard plastic bar right over top of the thickest part of a persons foot. I have always been an 8.5 normal in new balance and finally felt comfortable enough to order a pair online. Big Mistake. Now I can't even return them and they cost me over $100. They make my pinky toe lose all feeling before the first mile is over. The bar also sort of pushes your foot to the front of the shoe so your big toe is now being forced against the top of a shoe that should fit, making it feel like it doesn't. I am extremely disappointed in this shoe, as well as my painful loss of over $100. Do yourself a favor, and skip this shoe.

Order 1/2 size up
I agree with many other reviews, order 1/2 size up. Look at my picture, I have experience with these shoes (that isn't all of them). I have always worn a size 9 in all NB Minimus shoes and find no other shoe compares. However, these are too small, length wise. The gray/orange pair have been my faves and they are most like this new model. Some reviewers say the band across the top was too tight. I don't think it is-just the length. Hope this helps. I'm exchanging for a 9.5. Only gave 4 stars because of this - otherwise I love Minimus shoes!

Excellent barefoot shoes; order 1/2 size larger
This is my first shoe review ever. I have been wearing minimalist and barefoot shoes for several years now. I started out with the Brooks Pure Connect, and when they quit making those, I wore Brooks Pure Grit. I have some older ones I have been wearing for 2 1/2 years. I also have some Topos W-RT and Topos W-RX split-toes shoes. I love them except for the fact I can’t wear socks with them. So fast forward to the New Balance Minimus shoes. The feel is equivalent to my Topos. Awesome!! I have never worn New Balance shoes, but I have plans to own several pairs of these! I put them on right away and there has not been any break in period for me. They have felt great right out of the box. I have read several reviews where others have thought they were too narrow for them and the strap across the top of the foot was too tight. I haven’t had this experience. I first wore them to play putt-putt and then just walking around town all day. Today, I wore them trail running...awesome! Tomorrow, I will wear them for a 12 hour nursing shift. I will give an update after work tomorrow. If they are still Golden after work, they will be golden anywhere! After reading several reviews about sizing, I ordered a 1/2 size up and they fit perfectly. I normally wear a 6.5 in all of my shoes (running, sandals, flip-flops, cowboy boots, heels), but I ordered a 7 in these. Perfect fit!!Thanks New Balance! Please don’t ever stop making these.Update:Work:I have been wearing these shoes almost daily since I got them. I wear them to work for my 12 hour nursing shifts, and they are great! At work, I do wear them with 2xu compression running socks.Trail Running:I wear them trail running, and I absolutely love them! The trails I run on have a variety of packed hard dirt, tree roots, and rocks, and a couple of trails have some tree mulch areas. The trails have lots of hills. The shoes allow me to somewhat feel the ground, and use my toes for gripping when needed. I have slid on wet rocks a few times, but nothing I couldn't handle. I think the traction could be slightly better.Daily Everyday:I wear them for normal everyday shoes as well. I like them with my jeans and shorts. I don't dress "super" girly most of the time, but I like them with plain, women's cut, "nicer" t-shirts and shorts or jeans.I have ordered the solid black pair for a second pair because I get tired of having to wash the trail dirt off my shoes for work. Plus, it gives me a different color to wear. Several times, I have washed them weekly, and they have been fine. I wash them in cold water, usually with towels, and allow them to air dry. They look brand new again and dry super fast.If you are looking for a barefoot shoe, this is the shoe for you. If you are wanting a more minimalist shoe with a little more padding, these are probably not for you.

but when I saw these I fell in love with the look
So it was either these or five fingered shoes...but when I saw these I fell in love with the look! I bought a half size up so they fit perfectly. I'm normally a 7 and bought a 7 1/2. These shoes are minimalist shoes so if you are the kind of person who needs support in a shoe do to foot injury or do to a foot condition I do not recommend these shoes for you. If you want a more natural feel when you run or walk, that's what you will receive in this shoe. They will take a while to get used to so take it easy at first and do short runs. well that's all I got.

Best Minimal Shoe
I am a running shoe SNOB. With that said, this is my 5th pair of NB minimus. I LOVED the 2013 model & cried when I couldn't find them to buy again. I begrudgenly bought this pair & am so very happy I did! I run off road, sometimes trails but hardly ever straight-up concrete. I have a medium to high arch & am smack dab in the middle of size 7 & 7.5. I bought these in 7.5 & they fit perfectly.

Comfortable, flexible, and stylish.
Absolutely my favorite pairs of shoes! These shoes fit perfectly. I was hesitant about ordering shoes online that are known to be a tad small. I held my breath and ordered my running shoe size, perfect-o. I wore either no socks or thin socks which worked just fine. These shoes were delivered a day before I left to chaperone my daughter’s overnight field trip in the Northern California Coastal Redwood area. I brought my hiking boots since I was planning on slowly breaking in the new shoes. As minimalist shoes, advice is to allow your feet and body to adjust to the lack of support in the shoes. I suspect that since I typically wear low profile shoes, for example, Toms, Birkenstock’s, Keds, and flat dress shoes, I guess I didn’t need the break in period. I put on the shoes the first day that we arrived and didn’t change shoes the entire 3-day trip. I didn’t have any trouble with my toes hitting the front of the shoe and no blisters from the new shoes. We hiked an average of 5 miles per day with some areas of really steep incline. If you are considering a low-profile shoe, I highly recommend the New Balance Minimalist shoe. This is my first pair so I am not writing this review with the perspective of comparing other minimalist or barefoot shoes.

Very comfortable, I would buy them again.
I'm very happy with these shoes. I've worn them into rivers and they are fine when they get wet. Nice on the river rock. I usually wear Montrail runners in a size 9. Ordered these in a size 9.5 and they fit well. There is lots of room in the toe and I probably could have worn the 9 but they aren't too big. The toe box is nice and round, no squishing.
