Purchased this as a replacement for an old one when the lid snapped off, it lasted 7 years on a garden wall in all weathers. Specifically searched and purchased this one because the old one lasted so long.The quality has certainly not been reduced by the manufacturer, as often happens over time. If you are looking for an outside plug socket you can't go wrong here and very simple to fit. Just remember to put some sealant in the hole at the back where the cable comes in, it just gives that bit of extra water proofing.

Good box but the hinges are weak
I bought this to replace a previous one. When closing the box with a cable in it, be aware that the plastic hinges can snap, so it's a whole new unit. Good design that could have been better if they had made the hinges more robust.

Genuine component but replacing identical one with broken hinge (7 years old)
These are good functional items and this is OEM product. Issue that i have seen on many posts is the hinge is not robust enough and this is to replace the cover on one already fitted without a re-wire. Marked at 3 stars because given the number of reports this should have been designed out. However, if, like me you are replacing a broken one then it is OEM.
