Works great, fair value
I'm not at all as knowledgeable about this stuff as most of the people that write the reviews so this should may good for people who are clueless about this type of stuff. I had read the reviews before buying this and wasn't sure if I should spend the extra $ on Monster cables or not so I bought this and a less expensive cord at the same time (the less expensive one was still gold plated). I was hooking up to Direct TV and a Panasonic Blu-ray to my HP 1080i HD 47" Flat LCT TV so I needed two anyway. When I switch the cheaper one with this I can't notice any difference in quality. A friend of mine works for Tweeter and helped me with my TV installation so I asked him about it and he said that there's very little difference and he wouldn't spend the $ to upgrade. There's nothing wrong with the Monster cable at all but I spent around $40-$50 on it (which would have been $200+ at the store that I bought the TV at) and $15 on a no name brand and got the same picture as far as I could tell.

Bought to Replace a Cheap Cable
I bought this cable to replace one of those cheap $10 HDMI cables. That cable, straight from the box, gave us annoying horizontal banding when used with our new Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player and Toshiba 34 inch HDTV. I had even blown out the connections thinking it might have been caused by dust or something, but the problem persisted. So I began looking for another affordable alternative to the $100+ Monster Cables and found this model. It may not be the most advanced, but it works well for us, giving a crystal clear picture.I do question whether this cable will reliably transfer 1080p signals, since one part of the packaging indicated 1080p compatibility, while another part seemed to indicate that 1080i was the best it would do. I cannot test this, because our TV maxes out at 1080i.It's true that digital signals are just a bunch of ones and zeros, but the construction of the cable does play into the reliable transmission of those bits. Some people may get lucky with one of those cheap $10 cables, but I got what I paid for.

RF interference gone!
I have a 40inch Sony LCD monitor which is on a separate wall from the rest of my gear. My previous set up included high quality (high priced) component video cables. I still got intermittent RF interference in the form of color shifts and a slowly crawling horizontal line. HDMI completely eliminated the problem. This cable runs through a separate track, but in the same baseboard cable cover as the cable TV hookup and all of my speaker wires with no interference. If you are planning for a long cable run, HDMI is the only way to go. This cable works perfectly.

HDMI MUST!
Well built HDMI cable but only buy online if you get a good price! Never buy at a Circuit City or Best Buy because of their rip off prices on this item!!

works.
Needed this thing for my brand new 47" HDTV. I think that stands for Hard D*** Television? Well, it does on my TV. Don't buy a cable that is longer than you need due to the price.

I should have read reviews first
Good point by another reviewer. An HDMI cable is just a computer cable transmitting data. It doesn't need gold plated this or that to be any better. Too late for me but not too late for you. Order a standard HDMI cable and not the deluxe model and save some $$$.

A cable should just work. And this one does.
Every few years they changes the cables we need. Argh. But if you need an HDMI cable now, this one is fine and looks well constructed with strain relief.

good quality cable and good price
I like the material of he outside cover of this wire. Very good quality and price. It was really easy to install it inside a 1.5 inch tube.
