Works perfectly. I had my doubts when I ordered it since it's very old model. The camera works like new. The seller, UPBEAT ELECTRONICS even provided me with an AV Cable required to get it to connect to my Elgato Video Capture device. This was not a requirement to be provided with the camera, but UPBEAT ELECTRONICS provided it quickly.I converted some 25 year old 8MM tapes to digital using this and the Elgato Video Capture unit and they worked perfectly together. I was very happy this order arrived 2 days prior to the earliest delivery date....right up until the point I used it. It destroyed precious family memories...does nothing but EAT tapes, would not play them. For nearly $300 you'd think a product would actually work! Guess again - not this time. Save your money and look elsewhere!!

I purchased this item to copy my old tapes to digital technology.This camera is superior to my old sony and is so small and convenient to use that I will continue to use it for projects that do not need the new Digital resolution.

We haven't used this camcorder yet for taking videos, so that is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. However, we have used it to transfer videos from old cassette tapes onto DVDs. We had the same type of camcorder previously, but it had stopped working. It was going to be very expensive to pay someone to transfer our old cassette tapes onto DVDs, so purchasing another Handycam Camcorder to do the transfers ouselves was a more economical option. It has worked perfectly for this purpose, so we are very happy that we purchased it.

I bought this camera to convert an old 8mm tape and it worked great. It arrived on time and did exactly what I needed it to do. The night mode was neat although I don't use this camera for recording.

I used it to transfer our mini cassettes to DVD. It worked great!

Seller failed to mention the LCD screen is scratched or melted, nor does it come with ac power cord, I won’t hold my breath while waiting to see if the battery holds a charge, buyer beware,,, I think I just bought a $300 paper weight
