I needed a good saw so I wouldn't be blaming my tools for ...
I was installing 18mm oak flooring. My old, and formerly trusty, jigsaw just couldn't cope. I needed a good saw so I wouldn't be blaming my tools for my mistakes. After a few days on line research I opted for the Bosch 900 PEL.This jigsaw is sturdy and reliable. It is especially useful for ripping lengths when I'm not up to messing with the circular saw. (Set up a makeshift fence using an offcut and Irwin clamps.)It has stood up well to heavy use. Bosch markets the 900 PEL as Expert level, but I would recommend this jigsaw for any level of expertise.

Works very well
I love this product - have used it to cut plastic, thick tree branches, and various sizes and grades of wood for a new green house. By adjusting the power button I can control the machine reasonably well and it functions perfectly. Only problem I've had is that while cutting some (thick) hedging I forgot to remove the guide in front and it went flying never to be found again. I'm struggling to find a replacement.

BOSCH QUILITY IS NOT USED TO BE ABIT POOR
I HAVE STARTED DOING MY FENCES WITH THIS AND FRONT BIT PLASTIC PROTECTOR FRONT OF THE BLADE KEPT COMING OFF AND THAN STARTED RAINNING SO I KEPT PUTTING IT BACK BUT KEPT COMING OFF. SO I JUST TOOK THE PROTECTOR OFF AND USED IT LIKE THAT WITHOUT FRONT SAW PROTECTOR. BOSCH USED TO MAKE A GOOD QUILITY PRODUCTS BUT UNFORTUNATELY RECENTLY QUILITY OF PRUDUCTS JUST COMING DOWN I DONT KNOW MAYBE THEY GET THEM DONE IN CHINA THATS IS WHY CAUSE I NOTICED THE PLASTIC AROUND THE MACHINES ARE NOT THAT MUCH QUILITY AND ANIT FLIMSY AS THIS JIGSAW, FRONT CLEAR COLOUR SAFE GUARD COME OFF EVEN. OVERALL STILL OK FOR DIY PRERSON WHO COULD USE AROUND THE HOUSE. HOPE THIS WILL HELP MY FELLOW BUYERSTHANKS

OK if you live in Europe
The jigsaw may be excellent, but the unit’s lead came with a moulded European twin plug, rather than one for a UK 13amp socket.

Not the best Bosch amateur tool
Not worth the money - I have used a much cheaper own brand saw for years for occasional work eg 5 laminate floors, shelving etc and, with a bit of patience managed to get a decent cut quality but it does have a habit of veering off to the right so I thought I'd treat myself to a better tool - mistake !I bought this ( not from Amazon ) to do a small bathroom and a kitchen. The bathroom just needed some cuts in 18 mm MDF. There was a bit of a tendency to wander on a straight cut but the major problem I found was that the cut just wasn't perpendicuar to the working surface - it wandered + and - noticeably. I used new Bosch T100 laminate blades ( which I know gives a good clean cut with my old saw ) and also some generic fine cut blades. I also had problems doing curved cuts with a thin blade on pieces that my old saw manages reasonably easily.I was hoping for a decent cut quality given that this is top of the range DIY class jigsaw from Bosch but I could have done as well with the own brand saw at a quarter of the price.Conversely, for about twice this I could get a De Walt 331K pro tool which, I believe, would do exactly what I want.Sorry Bosch but my experience is that this is a bit of a lemon - and I have used several Bosch drivers and drills for some time - all brilliant - but sometimes any manufacturer will get things wrong.

Weak Baseplate
I am so annoyed with this product, i felt i had to write my first ever review on Amazon to warn others of the por quality of this product.I thought i was safe buying a mid range Jigsaw for a few DIY jobs around the house however after some relatively minor cutting (not even accurate work). The vibration had worked the machined screw loose underneath the saw which holds the steel baseplate in place. Not a problem i thought as i was screwing it back into place. Oh...the screw had de-threaded after a couple of turns of the screw. There is only a small thread inside the unit, it only pentrates 2-3mm when clearly it could really do with a longer screw and tapped metal hole. Gutted! especially when the screw was centred correctly and in-line. It's now useless...it cant be retapped or repaired. So i threw it as hard as could onto the patio floor to see if that helped...surprisingly it didnt work after that but i felt better! I have now bought the Dewalt 331 jigsaw, which for not much more money looks s more solid machine.
