Phenomenally done
If you like movies that make you think. If you like movies that leave you with a greater appreciation for life, including your own, then this is definitely the movie for you. It is by no means mainstream and it is very strange. The cinematography is brilliant, the direction is brilliant, the acting is brilliant. Jennifer Elster works all these positions and more and she knows what she is doing. She has a real art form as her craft. Gale Harold, is also, brilliant. His performance leaves you with a chill to the bone and it is is best acting portrayal that has ever been witnessed on TV or film, I should know, I've seen all of his stuff. While strange, this movie really gets at how everyone is messed up and has their own stuff going on. The heightened awareness of your own life that is generated from the watching of this movie is so worth sitting through some of the bizarre uncomfortable parts. Definitely a movie experience that you won't want to miss if you give a crap at all about humanity.

surprising indie movie
After seeing trailers of this movie I was interested in it. Jennifer Elster and Gale Harold are portraiing two broken characters who are loaded with many problems due to their family background. This movie shows their collision and how they try to overcome their phobias and fears, Jennifer as Lilly, an artist who fears to fail with everything she does and Gale as Morrison, who drives around in his car and spots people to write about them, who tries to manage his germ-phobia, scrubbing his face till excess with soap ( best scenes with a showercap on ;-)) ). In flashbacks we learn about Lilly's past and present and learn that her father is dying of AIDS, worst she could tell Morrison to whom she fell in love. How these two characters get over their fears and phobias it's well placed in this wonderful indie movie. Watch it you'll like it!

Particles of Truth is a must see!
If you are a Gale Harold fan and want to see him be different from Brian Kinney I suggest you see this movie!!!! Even though the movie isn't all about him he is in it enough. Gale gives a great performance and so does Jennifer, very well directed. Gale is shy, adborable, and his relationship with Jennifer's character was real and something you could relate to. There isn't really that good of extras except that there is comentary from Gale and Jennifer and it is funny. The movie flows very well and it is one of Gale's best works.

Sweet Movie
I bought this as I am a GALE HAROLD fan (if you are not already aware). The character Gale portrays is sweet and caring but is not treated in the same manner by his parents. He meets a girl who has as many 'self' issues as himself but somehow they get along ok. The vunerability shown in the characters made me want to protect them myself and save them from going through the situations in the movie. This is one for the Gale fans, as there are closeup shots of his face and his interpretation of the character. This is another movie where Gale shows what he is capable of. Sad content of movie is that it shows how parents can so easily influence their children be it good or bad. A timely reminder for us all.

Gale Harold gives a great persormance
I was curious to see Gale Harold perform as a very different character from Brain (from the amazing "Queer As Folk" TV series) and was not let down. Gale is a great actor and gave a great performance. The movie is dark, disturbing at some points, defiantly not "entertainment" but well done. I think I need to watch it again to be aware of more details and symbols. Overall I'm glad I bought it.

Engaging indie film
I like Gale Harold's work and I thought he did a very good job in creating an interesting and credible character in this small film. Spoiler: when the art by the female lead is finally revealed, it is awful. I could not tell if that was deliberate or just poor judgment. Still cogitating on that one.

Gale Harold is a great actor!
I became a fan of Gale Harold because of his role as Brian Kinney in the Showtime series "Queer as Folk." In "Particles of Truth", he gives a pretty good performance. The movie is good, though the pace feels a bit slow at times. If you are a fan of Gale and want to see him in something totally different, then check out Particles of Truth.

Particles of Truth
Like many others no doubt I brought this DVD because Gale Harold from `Queer as Folk' started in it. It was wonderful to see him in another role so different but more importantly he plays this character extremely well. Jennifer Elster was also a fantastic surprise, her production and direction of the film was interesting and beautiful. Her portrayal of the character Lily was also beautiful, a great presence on the screen. Both Jennifer Elster and Gale Harold's interaction with each other made the movie more believable and the characters realistic.I love this film about two intelligent but broken souls who when they bump into each other by accident they begin to help the other start their journey into understanding themselves. Lily is an artist who is unconfident in her work and is ashamed of her family. Morrison is a writer who is an obsessive compulsive trying to impress his father. This is a look at their lives over 2 days and all the troubles that affect them from family, friends and themselves. I would recommend this film to anyone; it has certainly entered into my favourite films category

THINK AGAIN
This film is a narcissistic, self-indulgent hymn of praise to Jennifer Elster who wrote, produced, directed, and stars. Little actually happens; she spends the entire film careening from one ugly situation to another seemingly unaware of where she is. All that anguish gets tiresome very fast. Like many of you I came to this film to see more of Gale Harold, after his spectacular performance as Brian in QAF. Here he is very much a secondary character, seldom gets out of his car, and has little scope for the performance we know he is capable of. God, I was disappointed. In what we DO see of him, he is as gorgeous as ever, and still uses his face for showing complex emotions. (Rewatch the Prom Scene in QAF and concentrate on his face to see what I mean.) It is also nice seeing him with facial fur. This movie is definitely Beauty and the Beast. We don't get to see much of Beauty (Harold), but a lot of the Beast. I notice that straight women give it good reviews--if that's not you, think again before ordering it.

Interesting work
I bought this movie because I wanted to know more on Gale Harold acting. After watching his performance in the last two seasons of QAF, I realized he was way more than a fantastically handsome face. This is not bad movie. It has a very good screenplay and some interesting choices on photography and even in the way some shots are sequentialized. Lots of good acting too: Gale Harold has perfect OCD comportement and a sweet hesitation on everything his character does. Very different from Brian of QAF. Jenniffer Elster did a good job here, but at some moments her acting was "pale". Also, as a director she missed something. There was something wanting on the rhythm she impressed on this movie. It seemed monotone, so I did not realize it when the movie was already reaching its climax.Anyway, is good for the "cult" shelf.

I have seen this movie twice now and i love it. Its quiet and full of feelings and so not Hollywood. And Gale Harold is absolutely great. If you haven't seen it - do it now :-)
