Overall good deal.
I did a ton of research on carseats before buying this one for my third child. Here are my thoughts:Pros: Very comfortable with nice thick straps. Carseat feels very sturdy and crash reviews are great for the seat. It is supposed to hold up well and protect babies in accidents. Not nearly as difficult to install as we were expecting. This one carseat will fit my daughter until she rides with no carseat/booster whatsoever. I'm a big fan of efficient gear like this.Once all buckled in, the narrower base allows me to scooch the whole carseat a little bit towards the door. This really helps since we now have to fit 3 children in 2 carseats and a booster side by side.Con's: Pain in the neck to move this in and out of cars. Only buy this is you are intending to put it in your car and keep it there. We put our baby in this straight from the hospital. I would not do that again. My daughter was 9 pounds and this seat seemed wayyyyy too big for her. I don't know how they claim to fit 5 pound babies. I was terrified the whole way home. It did not seem safe. This seat also sits annoyingly upright for infants. If they are not seated juuuuusst right, her head wants to fall forward. Not cool. or safe. This seat is huge forward to back so the seat in front of it has to be scooched wayyy forward. I'm 5'10 so that sucks for me. I made the mistake of trying to back my seat up a bit and made this thing tilt forward; then my baby's head really wanted to fall forward :( too me weeks to get it all adjusted again.Overall: great price for a long life of a carseat that I fully intend to not move from it's current position until my daughter's weight forces us to make the carseat face forward. I'm very happy that its design allows it to sit next to another carseat and booster chair in the back of a nissan xterra. I don't think it is great for new infants because it just doesn't look like they are secure enough. I don't like the angle it wants my baby to sit - it will be fine when she's a bit older. I take a few extra seconds to make sure she is pushed down in the seat as far as possible and I roll baby blankets to support both sides of her head. Those are both good things to do for safety anyway.

Perfect Second Set/Backup Set
I've never had any real issues with Britax products, and this seat is no exception. In fact, we own 2. We were looking for a basic car seat to use in my husband's car, so we wouldn't have to do the car seat shuffle every time we used his car over mine. We also needed something simple that we could use for the grandparents.Pros:- Fairly lightweight and easy for travel/moving from car to car (we use a different brand for air travel because this one is kind of wide)- LATCH buckles are separate from one another (usually it is one long strap with a latch buckle on each end - this one has a separate latch buckle and strap attached to that metal bar that runs along the bottom on each side as seen in the picture). This wasn't a deciding factor that lead me to buy the seats, but I really love the feature now that I have it. I feel like we get a much better install.- Angle is easily adjusted to convert from rear to forward and vice versa- Cloth is easily wiped down - light color stays remarkably clean- Velcro patches on the inside of the seat keep the buckles off to the side to keep them from getting stuck under little bottoms while loadingCons (Note: I knew these before purchasing)- Not a lot of padding- Shell height is not as tall as some others - tall kids might not get as much use out of it- Have to manually thread the straps to adjust the harness - no quick adjustOverall, I gave it five-stars because it does the job we needed it to do. Easy install. Lightweight. Easy to load and unload kids. Yes, there are better seats out there, but this one is perfect if you go into it knowing what you are getting.

Best seat for the money!
I purchased this seat as a seccond carseat so my mother and husband could switch it between their cars to pick up our 3 year old from pre k. I first bought the saftey 1st grow and go EX Air because of its 50 lb weight limit for rear facing. We want to keep our son rear facing as long as possible and 50 lbs was the top rated weight limit for rear facing as I could find. Well the saftey first was very disappointing. I took it back to babies r us the same day I bought it. The latch anchors would not tighten enough for the seat to be secure in the car. Their carseat tech couldn't make the saftey 1st seat latch work either.I quickly looked on amazon and found this seat. It was les expensive than the Saftey 1st goes up to 40 lbs rear facing, which most seats do, and has a much higher quality latches, I believe all Britax have, but the Saftey 1st didnt. This seat is a base model but, I am very happy with it. It installs quickly and very secuerly. My 3 year old has plenty of room. Changing the straps to higher levels is very easy the cover in silver is very nice and looks like it will wipe clean inbetween washing.I feel so much safer with this seat than the other I purchased. He also has been riding in the advocate we purchased in 2014 and he is equally conformable in both. The advocate has more side impact and head support for younger children. But, I would be happy to use this seat with a Newborn on up with the seat cushon/ pillow they provide. For the price, quality, and safety this is the best seat on the market!
