Bon Tool Undercut Saw

Excellent Saw
In the past, I relied on my old trusty standley cross cut saw to undercut door jambs which worked OK but was too long. When we decided to install laminate flooring in our hallway which has 4 doors, I decided to get a saw that was actually designed to cut door jambs. I decided on this saw mostly because of the length and contour handle. After using the saw, I identified three features that make this saw a winner. The first is the two sided tapered blade that allows you to cut the right and left door jambs at any angle. The second is the number of teeth per inch; the saw gives a good clean cut while being aggressive enough to cut quickly. Lastly, the handle is really comfortable to hold and grip while on your knees.I used a scrap piece of flooring to hold up against each jamb to quickly cut the molding away to the stud. The blade thickness is just right to prevent bending and binding and to also give the right amount of clearance.

Consider other options.
This saw served the purpose in undercutting the door frames during the installation of 1500 feet of laminate flooring. The handle did not come loose, and the blades are still sharp. A minor annoyance was the plastic teeth guards that were brittle and broke during the first few attempts to use them to protect the teeth, but that was a minor annoyance and I used some 1/4 inch tubing cut lengthwise to replace the plastic guards. The issue here is price, this saw is within a couple of dollars of an electric multipurpose vibrating tool that not only would have undercut the frames but has replacement blades that perform multiple functions, such as sanding. Anyway, if I had to do it over again, I'd opt for the electric tool, It would have been quicker, safer, and easiser.

The handle pulled off after several cuts
If you only have a few cuts to make and can juggle holding the handle in place while you cut, this saw will work. Frustrated that the handle pulled off so easily and really no excuse other than you get what you pay for.

works great
reasonably sharp teeth. I use this mainly to start the cut at the bottom of a door jamp while installing laminate flooring.I start with this saw and then finish the cut with a Bosch oscillating tool. This undercut saw helps me get a good straight cut.Good quality for the price.

Considering the low price, it is great.
Worked great. For the price, could not have been much better.

Worked once.
Worked really good the one time I used it. The second time I used it the handle came off. Very difficult to use without a handle.
