The League and the Legionnaire
A new DC comics animated movie. Which sees super hero teams from two different eras unite. In the 31st century, the Legion of Super Heroes are battling some of the members of their foes, the Fatal Five. When the latter make a trip through time, one Legionnaire risks all to deal with them.In the 21st century, it's another day for the Justice League. Superman is assisting his colleague Mr. Terrific with a science problem, and is about to get a nasty shock. Batman is working with new recruit Miss Martian. Who is sorely trying his patience. And Wonder Woman is trying to get new Green Lantern Jessica Cruz to be the hero she has the potential to be.When the time travelling villains arrive, a deadly threat to all of humanity awaits. And people have to find it in themselves to be heroes....The animation in this harks back to earlier DC work, in a bright and colourful style which looks like an updated version of some 1990s efforts. And it's a departure from the last few animations featuring the Justice League, as it goes back to the earlier style for Batman Superman and Wonder Woman. And it has actors Kevin Conroy, George Newbern, and Susan Eisenberg return to those roles. It's great to hear all three again. Especially the former.Where this really succeeds as well is bringing Jessica Cruz to the screen. A character who has PTSD and anxiety, and has to battle through that to be brave. I have loved her since she was first introduced because someone who has to deal with all her issues in order to be heroic is more interesting as a character than someone to whom it comes naturally. The writing and the voice acting her do her justice. She and Star Boy from the Legion do have a very good chemistry as well.Batman and Miss Martian do have a fun dynamic. And there's a great sense of jeopardy to this, which gets even more so as it goes along. There's some great action scenes. All of which take place in daylight and are clearly edited. And comic fans will get their moneys worth with the sight of some place and people you would never have expected to see in one of these.Ultimately, it's about the heroic ideal. And finding that in yourself. And it does pack a good emotional punch thanks to that. It could do with being a little longer, as some characters don't get as much to do as you might like. Mr Terrific in particular never really gets a moment. But that's only a minor complaint. This is a really good watch.Do note it's a twelve certificate, thanks to some violence, mild language, and one mild adult moment.Languages and subtitles on the dvd are:Languages: English, French.Subtitles: English, Arabic, Dutch, French, Portuguese, Romanian. It contains a flyer with a code you can use to download a digital copy of the film onto a digital device. And the usual sneak peeks at other dc animations, which mix cast and crew talking about them with finished and unfinished footage. In this case, there are looks at the already existing animations Justice League Dark, and Justice League V Teen Titans. And one at the forthcoming Batman: Hush.

Great animation
Really enjoyed this animated feature as it harps back to the animation of the Justice League animated series which is a classic itself. It was great to have the famous voices once again taking on the roles of Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman. One would think that the Legion of Super-Heroes would be involved, but the only one who has a role here is Star Boy. Not giving a bigger role to the other from the Legion is slightly disappointing, but the film still is head and shoulders above some of the disappointing animated films DC has released in previous years. The inclusion of The Fatal Five (although The Emerald Empress and Validus only appear towards the end) makes this great viewing. I am still not entirely stuck on Jessica Cruz as the Green Lantern, but personal taste aside, this is one fans of the Justice League series will greatly enjoy. I hope it won't be too long before they develop another film in this same vein.

The DCEAU in a league of its own???
OK maybe the headlines a bit cheesy but this movie is far from it,ive been a long term fan of the DC animated movies as they manage to bring some of those iconic 'comic books' to life thing is its not just the stories themselves (which are excellent in themselves) also its the realism given to characters like 'Star boy' and 'Green Lattern-Jessica Cruz who are dealing with the biggest evil of all, mental illness on a daily business and also there was a DCEU a year or so about the Ray which tackled the main protagonist being homosexual. These little 'touches' just add to what are already excellent showcases for DCs animated team. Not only is Fatal Five an excellent 'action packed' amazing animated movie its awesome that lesser known characters such as( to me anyway??) the brilliant Saturn Girl, 'star of the show (sorry) Starboy, and finally Mr Terrific with his 'Teespheres' are er well 'Terriffic' I obviously enjoyed this movie very much and 'yearn' for the other DC animated moviies lined up for this year, somebody mentioned it earlier buy Batman Hush looks incredible and for Batfans outhere the sneak peek is worth the £14.99 alone and let us not forget the Star Boy figure is an awesome addition to the figure collection from the movies over the past couple of years ago..........Enjoy!!!!!

"Bring it Skelator"
I loved this movie. I have to admit out of almost the animated movies so far this is the one I was the least excited about from the preview. Yet this is not my favourite DC animated movie since Batman: Red Hood.I loved everything about this movie, from the old school WB animation. Maybe I am just showing my age but this is my favourite animation. The movie action packed from the start to finish. This is not kids movie from the grizzly deaths, to adult language. As much as I loved seeing the the next generation, and people stepping up to overcome their fear and becoming the hero they are ment to be. I loved seeing the originals, DC's big three in action, and done perfectly. Batman as his complete bad self Wonder Woman fighting with a sword, and Superman not holding back. This movie is just awesome. Then an sneak peek at one of my favourite Batman stories ever, coming next. Hush my beating heart.
