This was super fun for my pre-k class. 8 out of 10 of them turned into butterflies. I would recommend getting the lid holder log too. I did not and the butterflies emerged inside the little cups. It was cramped.

I've been ordering these for years and our kids love them! The caterpillars always grow and turn into butterflies. I like that the refill cups come with every thing the baby caterpillars need. (We already have the butterfly habitat from Insect Lore.) They each come with 5 caterpillars and that's plenty. We live in a warmer climate and our caterpillars tend to grow quickly. I'd say within 2 weeks they go from caterpillars to butterflies. Watching them grow bigger each day is so fun. This is a great gift for kids of all ages. Just make sure they have the other necessary accessories before you send them a cup of caterpillars!

We received our caterpillars but not all of them survived. When trying to see what could be done they wanted me to ship back the dead caterpillars! Some have made their cocoons but the dead ones are on the bottom of the jar.

I ordered 2 cups this spring for my nephew. We had so much fun learning about caterpillars and butterflies. This is such a simple and easy task for the value of money. Will definitely be doing again next year. I am so excited to raise more and release them.

Did not recieve a good batch of Caterpillars. Was really disappointing as my studentd were upset to see many of them die as butterflies. I will not be ordering Insect Lore Caterpillars again.

I order 20 caterpillars, they were supposed to come 5 in each container. However, 2 of the containers have 3 live caterpillars and 1 container have 2 lives caterpillars, and 1 of the containers have nothing. Out of 20 I order only only 8 were alive 😕

Unfortunately the catapillars I ordered with the butterfly kit came in damaged so I had to order replacements which these worked perfectly

Best gift for my grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. What a great learning experience for all of us. Customer service is so good. We had a question and it was answered right away. I will order this again.
