The Ergon SMC4 Sport Gel Saddle features the same foam padding and general shape as Ergon's comfort-minded SMC4 saddle with the addition of gel pads for a boost of ride-smoothing comfort. Ergon constructs the SMC4 Sport Gel with sturdy CroMo rails paired with a nylon composite shell. It then adds Orthopedic Comfort Foam padding and the aforementioned gel pads and wraps it all in a soft, durable, microfiber cover to withstand abuse from the elements. A pressure-relief channel traverses the center of the saddle to create a topography that protects sensitive areas while maintaining a supportive platform.

Very comfortable. Worth the money.
I previously bought a Scoop saddle based on reviews. It was better than my stock saddle, but ehh. I put this one on tonight and road an 8 mile loop, 1400 day of climbing. Bottom line: easily twice as comfortable as the Scoop. Pretty much forgot about how it felt, which is perfect. I really look forward to seeing how this does on a 20+ mi ride. Highly recommend!

Bike Saddles are HIT or MISS
Overall, the quality of this saddle is solid. I have Ergon Grips on my fitness bike so decided to give this a try since my original Brooks Cambium did not have a cut out. As an experienced cyclist I get it...the seat either works for you or it does not. This one was a complete miss after several adjustments and about 80 miles. My weight is 192 lbs with normal build if that helps. I put it on late last season and am just getting back into this one...it has no flex or give. For me I am going back to a Brooks Cambium now that they have a cut out version.

A little less comfortable than the Ergon SCF3 on longer rides.
Very long. Balanced more forward than most. Being at 260 lbs, that places me much closer to the stem when dismounted. Probably not an issue for a smaller person.

Best saddle I purchased so far
Great seat, fast shipping. I used the online sizing to get the seat. I’m glad I did, I would have bought a large. But the sizing said medium. Fits great and comfortable

The most comfortable saddle I have found
I have tried many saddles for my mountain bike without going to a wide soft saddle and this by far is the best one I have used. I am 76 years old and have been on it for two hour plus rides and no sore butt.

Ergon SMC4 Sport Gel Saddle
This seat is excellent. The product is exactly as described & is perfect for those who want to put some kms on their bike with no pain. It supports really well with no pressure points but in no way is too soft. Highly recommend this seat to anybody & would buy again.
