Run it over with a dump truck full of gravel, throw them down the sidewalk, drop it in the ocean... no problem.
This is the best and most sturdy electronic anything I have ever used. I've had my DuraPlus for about 3 years now, as has my husband, and we have literally run over them with a dump truck full of gravel, repeatedly, and a large excavator, and ground them into the road until they are flush, then come back after days of rain and dug it out... and it was still on. The battery hadn't even run down yet after calling it and calling it trying to remember where we'd lost it. And there was no damage done, it continued to work fine until my husband lost it somewhere I couldn't recover it from and we bought a few more for him. MINE however, has remained the same single device for these years, and whenever anyone asks about my phone, I happily throw it down the sidewalk or drop it in a cup of water to prove my point. Often I have also had reception when all those smartphone folks were without bars. It is the best. And the flashlight is so bright I use it regularly during Search and Rescue operations.Recently my speaker has finally started to get blown out, people are having a hard time hearing me occasionally, and the screen has frozen a few times. It seems like time to replace it before anything sad happens to it. My husband thought he'd like to look into getting a rugged, waterproof smartphone. We've been searching the internet all week and here is what I've learned:The DuraPlus has T9 predictive texting! You can change all the settings you expect to be able to change! The time and date automatically update with the phone carrier! You can choose a background picture from a variety of options, change from grid to list view on the menu, the buttons feel good and press well, the menus are quick and handy to navigate. The flashlight is quick to turn on, texting and calling quick to access. There is a good variety of alarm options, ring tones, a count down, stop watch, calendar, 650 contact slots, a good system of alerts, Bluetooth, calculator, a fun little "world clock" that lets you scroll around on a map, an easy option for checking for updates for your phone, it can receive picture text messages and forward them on to other numbers or to email, you can text multiple numbers at once... Sometimes it has trouble opening group text messages, though I blame that on the smartphones, not my phone - also the area we are in which has poor coverage for everyone. And what I've learned in looking for a replacement is that many of these really, really basic features DO NOT COME STANDARD WITH OTHER PHONES. With other super basic cheap "rugged" phones that is. I also couldn't find another phone that looked like it could be used as a projectile weapon with no damage to the device.

This phone is used but it was suppose to be tested and checked out.
Having problems with button functions - When I push "back" button it is supposed to lock all the buttons but sometimes it does nothing... and other times it powers down the phone.....and some times it does lock the phone buttons. Very inconsistent and aggravating.

Great Phone
I was looking for a phone that has good reception when making and receiving calls, durable, looked good, and didn't require a data plan and this phone turned out to be perfect. I don't understand how this phone got 3 negative reviews. I haven't use it very much since I just received it but so far the call/sound quality, display, and texting all seem to be working great!

cell phone
its a heavy duty phone and water resistant with a 10hr battery life that i love it . it has a flashlight and a very loud external speaker which is plenty loud while I'm driving driving which i love also love .its has no camera i don't care and its built to take abuse and lasts a long time .my old phones in year looks like they went threw a tornado so this takes more punishment with no problem and that's what i needed the basics with roughed and tough and best of all it was very cheap .

Not cool
This was represented as in good condition and had a bad corroded back top corner. First bad review I write on here. Love to get it replaced for a propper depiction of what yet advertised.

Kyocera DuraPlus E4233 Sprint Cell Phone
This phone is in perfect condition. So much so I wonder if they sent me a new one by mistake. At any rate it is exactly what I wanted. I bought this as a gift for my neighbor who is a contractor. He's hard on his tools and gear and this should suit him perfectly. All he wanted was a tough phone and I'm pretty sure this is it. If it fails in any way I'll update this review. Update 9/2016: don't run over it with a truck. I still rate it 5 stars and wish I could get one for myself for gsm.
