This bike turned me into a cyclist!
Update: I've had this bike about 6 years now. I have gone through so many other bikes, my collection has grown to 4 bikes, with 2 others I've bought and sold. I love all my bikes, but this one is just special. It just makes me happy to ride, something I don't necessarily get from any of my other bikes. I just see it parked and it makes me smile. It's slower and heavier than anything else in my collection, but I still just love to ride it.I hadn't had a bike since I was about 10, this was my first bike as an adult. I have now put 500 miles on this bike so I feel like I can give it a fair review.I was a timid scared cyclist and wanted something that made me feel safe and stable, but isn't quite as slow as something like an electra townie. This bike was perfect. It's VERY comfortable to ride, but lightweight for the type of bike it is. I have the matching rack on mine and it's about 32 lbs all in. I also put a nice brooks B67 S on it. This bike puts you in a very upright and tall position. I feel totally comfortable riding this for a 15 mile weekend ride or through heavy city traffic. I commuted on this through downtown Boston for a long time and it feels great in traffic. I crashed it several times and it's barely dinged up. It feels nice and sturdy. This bike is SO comfy and leisurely to ride it's sort of like riding a couch. My boyfriend rode it around and loved it so much he almost got one himself.I live at the top of a very steep hill and the megarange gear really helps. It gives you a true "granny gear" so you can spin up nearly everything. I've gone up 15% grades in this without too much trouble and no need to stand up. But if you do have to, it's very easy to do on this bike (something not very easy on a cruiser). I have hauled up to the weight limit of the rack (50lbs) in cargo and the bike rides pretty nicely weighed down, considering how heavy it is (note, balance the cargo and make sure anything heavy, like watermelons, go on the bottom of the basket or pannier).I got this in bright orange and I LOVE the color. I get tons and tons and tons of compliments on, from absolutely everyone. My boss, to people on street corners, to spandexers. It's very flashy! And with it's nice swan frame this is a very eye catching bike. It definitely doesn't blend into the sea of mixtes and mountain bikes. On the last note, I got this bike as just a form of transportation, not because I particularly liked riding. After having this bike for just one spring/summer/fall (riding season) I decided I loved biking so much that I got a carbon fiber road bike and became a spandexer. This bike made me just fall in love with cycling!

I love my cherry red PUBLIC bike
I love my cherry red PUBLIC bike! I'm admittedly a leisure rider as I don't commute for work, but it's a fun urban workout. I put a basket in front, and it's super handy for carrying small personal items. But to be honest, when I ride with my dog in the basket, we always get tons of compliments. We are riding in style!

Love my Public Bike!
This is my prettiest bike! I own many different kinds of bikes (mountain, road, folding), but this one is perfect for my casual riding in the city, cruising all over town. With 7 gears, I can shift into a low gear and make it up most of the San Francisco hills, or shift up and race across town to get somewhere fast. I do my shopping on this bike with bags on my rear rack, take it for picnics, and even ride it to meet friends for dinner. It's easy to ride and looks great! I highly recommend it. It's a great city bike. Who wants to look like a racer all the time anyway? I get lots of compliments on how pretty this bike is every time I'm on it.

I absolutely love my PUBLIC bike
I absolutely love my PUBLIC bike. It's my go to transportation in San Francisco. It's beautiful, well-designed, sturdy, and gets plenty of compliments. It's been my best looking accessory for a long time now. The service and super helpful staff at PUBLIC are unmatched. Anytime I need to fill my tire with air, adjust my seat height, patch my tires, update my bike swag, they always take great care of me. I can do most of the tasks myself but time is an issue for me and I simply enjoy being in their store and chatting with the staff. If you ever have an opportunity to visit their stores, it's a must!
