All birdbaths should have this! It works great!
Just amazing! My birdbath stays cleaner so much longer now. I was scrubbing with a stiff brush every other day to clean out the algae growing on the bottom. It wouldn't even just rinse off. Now I scrub it once a week and there is no green algae. This is just a must for all birdbaths. They should come with them!

They work better than expected!!
I bought 2 of these even though I was skeptical about how well they would work. In the 3 months we've had our one foot high glass birdbaths out (one mostly shaded and one in full sun), I've only had to clean them once, and that was because a storm blew a ton of dirt and mulch from the flower beds into them. I dump the water when I see bugs or other debris but the water has stayed so clean I usually just top it off as I'm watering. I'm also better at keeping them filled because I don't have to clean them so often. As for the copper discs, those have also stayed remarkably clean. I've wiped them down once, and the only algae or pink slime I saw were in the divots made from the nubs on the bottom side. Our 3 feral cat family members also approve. I put fresh water out for them every day when I feed them, but they usually drink from the shaded birdbath instead. The sparrows from across the street have to use one of the cat's two water dishes since the cats called dibs on their birdbath, but it works for them. I would highly recommend these to anyone who dreads the chore of cleaning gross birdbaths.

It Really Works!
I struggle with algae even though the water evaporates due to our excessive heat here in AZ. I only bought one because I really didn't believe it would make a difference. I was wrong! First it is really pretty in the water. Secondly, it does make a difference from the get go. I was astonished. However, with all that said, do not let the disc be exposed to sun and air and not covered with water. I didn't tend to our birdbath for 3 days and the disc was exposed to the elements and turned burnished which is what copper does naturally. I tried to clean it and return it to the original condition but was not successful. I will reorder at least a 2 pack soon and be more careful. And if I learned anything from Trump's Washington Monument reflecting pool fiasco.....hydrogen peroxide in the bird bath water does not harm the disc and attacks algae growth. I give the deep birdbath fresh water every 2 days and add hydrogen peroxide every 3 weeks to the water without harming the wildlife and it keeps the birdbath algae free.

Makes a huge difference and so easy!
I bought one disc to see if it would work with my ground birdbath/water feeder and am now buying a second one because it makes such a huge difference in keeping the birdbath clean. It truly does a great job. Since I’m in hot and dry Arizona in the midst of summer, I need to add water to the birdbath daily, but with the disk, I only need to brush clean the birdbath maybe once a week. I’m buying the second disc so I can switch back and forth between the two because, in my case, the disc is discoloring fairly quickly and washing it in soap and water doesn’t really get rid of the discoloration. The instructions say to soak it in white vinegar overnight for deeper cleaning, and I tried soaking it for a couple of hours and almost all of the discoloration was gone. It couldn’t be easier to use. The birds don’t seem to notice it at all. And with its being copper, it’s likely to last many months. Overall, I am very happy with this product, feel it is reasonably priced, and highly recommend it.

It’s doing its job, just not a miracle worker
I’ve only had these Mellbree copper discs in my birdbath for about a month, and they’re definitely doing something. The water stays cleaner for longer, and I’m not seeing as much buildup as before, which is nice. But let’s be real — it doesn’t magically clean everything. You still get some stuff settling at the bottom, and it’s not like the birdbath suddenly becomes self‑maintaining. It helps, but it’s not a full‑on “never scrub again” situation. For the price, it’s solid, especially since you get two discs and they’re pure copper. Just don’t expect it to replace actual cleaning. Bottom line: Good helper, not a full solution. Worth it, but not mind‑blowing.

Keeps fountains clean longer
Works better than I expected in keeping fountain water clear, especially in summer heat. It works so well that I bought 3 more for our other fountains. The birds are happier with clean water and we don't have to scrub the fountains as often. Highly recommend.

Great work keeping the water nice
Keeping the ick out of our fountain. Looks nice a shiny still and keeping the water from getting discolored as it is made to do. Seems solid and make the fountain look better day after day.

Good… but not the magical bird bath janitor I hoped for
The copper disk definitely helps keep the water cleaner — like, it slows down the slime, the funk, and whatever mysterious bird soup forms in there. But let’s be real: it does NOT clean all the water. You still gotta roll up with your scrub brush like you’re doing a tiny spa day for birds. The copper is legit, the disc is sturdy, and it does reduce buildup. It just doesn’t replace actual cleaning unless your birds are unusually tidy (mine are not). So yeah: helpful, but not a miracle. Rating: 4/5 — great assist, but you’re still scrubbing like a medieval peasant.

Sceptical but they do work
Was sceptical but we have a bird bath and a water tray for our visiting hedgehogs these needed jet washing at least weekly due to algae but after placing these in them the maintenance is significantly reduced
