Most of my backyard was weeds and no grass - I bought this due to the highly rated reviews and they did not lie! Bare dirt areas are now filled with green grass! It was easy to use as I am very new to backyard care. I did not have to do much other than water every once in awhile. Grass grows very quickly too and the grass looks significantly better than other areas where I haven’t used this product! I wish I had a before and after picture to show off how much better my yard looks! Will continue to purchase if needed for other areas!

Has patches missing in multiple spots in backyard. This worked great. Back yard is now full looking. Grass filled in about 2 weeks after putting it down. Some areas of backyard get full sun and some are shaded by trees and both areas grew grass from this. Would buy again. Just make sure area is watered well to improve growth. Also for the cost it is well worth if compared to other brands. Grass was lush and green.

It works well, but it's basically the same thing as putting down seed and peat moss (or toilet paper slurry). I've had good success with the product, but it's not very cost effectively. You recommend this to people who really don't want to deal with multiple steps. No matter what you do, you have to water it when it dries out (it gets lighter). If you don't do that with this or peat moss, you're not getting grass. If you do, you get grass in 10-14 days. Germination is really quick, as it would be with peat moss. It's a nice green.

Do not buy this product. it does not work. I followed the instructions meticulously, and I had no grass grow after more than a month. The spots were I did nothing look better than the spots where I used this. total waste of money. What's worse is that I now added a heavy, dumb, useless amount of plastic (the container) to a landfill. We bought three for a large lawn with lots of spots. Next year, I will buy plain old seed, a little gypsum and a small amount of peat, and do it myself the way I have before.

I planted this on Memorial Day weekend in Michigan. I followed the directions and ripped out the dead grass. Tilled the dirt and sprinkled the seeds. I watered the seeds twice a day and I started to see growth at about one week. I love the new grass texture and I would say to shake the bottle since the seeds settle to the bottom. I will use this again in the future and would recommend - just follow the directions and plant in the spring! The final picture shown was after the first mow.

I had a landscape crew last season who edged my flower beds with a heavy-duty weed whacker every time they came, resulting in shapes that no longer resembled the actual lines of the beds. I used this to seed the areas that they'd gouged out and was astounded to see how quickly and well the seed filled in the bare areas of the beds as well as bare areas in the lawn left by a grub infestation. The container itself is very handy for dispersing the seeds properly.
