Industrial/Steampunk fan
I love this fan/light. The light fixture is simple, not fussy & frilly like so many of the globe styles. The globes look a bit like mason jars and they completely enclose the bulbs. The clear jars allow for plenty of light and the bulbs that come with the unit can be dimmed. I have yet to use the remote, although it is set up, as I also purchased a Hunter wall switch which is more convenient. The main reason for the remote, for me, is to be able to switch the fan direction from winter to summer air flow. I did NOT want to have to climb on a ladder to change the direction! The unit comes with 2 down poles and I used the shorter, 2" I think, as I have a drop ceiling. I cannot address ease of installation as I had an electrician, who has installed these before and has installed below a drop ceiling, do it. It did not take him long so I assume it is fairly straight forward. I have the fan set to a low speed and there is no sound at all. I have not tried higher speeds. The blades are a weathered gray on one side and dark brown on the other. I chose the darker color as it blends with the base.I do agree with other reviews, the one drawback is the beeping when you change the light or fan setting or turn it off. No idea what the point it but it is annoying.Other than that I am very, very happy with this unit!

This fan blows!
We used this as a replacement on a fan with a motor that went out. I like that the lights hang down and aren’t just one central light creating a spotlight like most remote fans/lights do. The fan really picks up speed at the top setting, which is nice and keeps the air moving throughout the room well. It’s super quiet, too! Highly recommend even with the price being a little more than I’d typically spend on a fan.

Not a "fan" of the remote and here's WHY it beeps
First, I really like the fan. Virtually silent, looks great, easy to install with one exception and provides great lighting. Really, really like the looks of the fan. I'm fairly handy and have installed maybe a dozen ceiling fans over the years. This is one of the easiest I've installed. Took about 3 hours but I had to change out the ceiling box too to something that would support a fan versus a light fixture. Maybe 90 minutes for just the fan. Only challenge was the last step of attaching the light kit onto the fan base. Very fussy. A bunch of wires in the light box so not much room for the electrical connector to fit inside. Spent a lot of time pushing the wires out of the way and finally had to tape them down so they wouldn't move back in the way. Then you are supposed to push the light fixture up against the bottom of the fan and rotate it clockwise to lock it in. Very confusing instructions on this. Read them about 6 times till I finally got what they were talking about related to the "notch" and the "pin." Here's a clue: Only one "pin" on the fan side but three "notches" on the light side and you can align any of the three notches with the one pin. What they are calling a notch is the part that sticks out from the attachment piece on the light kit. NOT one of the "slots" in that piece. Think of a spout on the top of a box of salt that sticks out. That's what they are calling a notch which is not at all clear from the picture. Anyway, once I sorted that out, it went together fairly well although still needed a lot of upward force to get the light fixture to seat properly with the fan due to all the wires crammed into the light fixture. Now that it's all installed and I've used it a few days, my only beef is with the remote. (Yes the fan beeps when you press buttons on the remote as many have commented but that really doesn't bother me.) It's the REASON it beeps that bothers me. See attached picture of remote. Only 3 buttons so as a result, you kind of need the beeping to give you some feedback so you know what the fan is doing. Other fan remotes I've had (including Hunter's) have hard coded buttons for slow, medium, fast, off and reverse so you don't need a beep to tell you what the fan is doing. You just press the button you want to tell the fan what to do. They provide a little card with the remote so you know all the combinations of button presses to operate the fan properly. Long hold of fan button, for instance, reverses direction. Hold down both Up and Down buttons to turn dimming mode off or on. (This tripped me up awhile as the dimmer didn't work at first until I turned dimmer mode on by holding the up and down buttons.) Ultimately, in Hunter's interest to make a small, sleek looking remote with only 3 buttons, they made it much more complicated to operate. And that's why they had to have the fan beep so you had a clue what you were telling it to do. And don't lose the instructions card or you'll be lost forever! So, in the end, I like the fan a lot but they should go back to a larger remote with more buttons and lose the beeping.

Good choice in ceiling fans
Replaced a dead fan, wiring is single wire as for a light only so we needed a remote control feature.Instructions even I could understand.Went together easily, all the screws and all the tapped holes went together, no burrs, no globs of paint.Gives off plenty of light in spite of using LED bulbs.Remote is simple enough to use but not totally, we taped the instruction card next to the remote until we learned all the functions.Good choice, worth the money, arrived with no damage.

Looks great!
We love this ceiling fan. We also bought a hunter 60 inch downrod for it. Remote is easy and works great. Very rustic looking. Exactly what we were looking for.
