Amazon Basics USB 3.0 Universal Laptop Docking Station

My only complaint is that the price of these gradually rose to significantly higher prices than it started at. Sadly now out of stock!

I had a docking station for work laptop and would only suit Dell Laptop. Was looking for a docking station that was universal so I could use my personal laptop and so could my partner. Both in college as well as working, so needed a universal docking station. They were expensive but when I saw this one, read the reviews, posted a question and got answers back I knew this would suit me.It is so easy to install/set up - anyone can do it. There is a DVI and HDMI connection at the back for the monitors. The docking station arrived with a DVI to VGA converter. I purchased a HDMI to VGA converter and I was able to connect the docking station to the two monitors. IT has 6 USB connections, power (does not charge the laptop) and a connection for docking station to laptop (usb into the laptop) and finally one connection to connect internet direct into the docking station which I don't use as good wifi.5 star, I have recommended to friends and family and a great price. Just check monitor connection before you purchase so you get all that you need in one order. Very happy customer, I didn't know of Amazon basics but it will be the first thing I check from now on :)First four pictures are docking station and DVI to VGA, the last is the HDMI to VGA I purchased separate.

Does the job. The instructions about installing the driver before plugging it in are clear - it's just a shame that the URL isn't supplied to be able to download, rather then supplying a disc - something most newer laptops can't read for lack of a drive. I had to come back to the listing to get the link.It works like a charm - I can plug this in to power one screen via the DVI port (with the VGA connector), which has proper docking screws which is a major bonus since these aren't designed to stay in a port without them. I then plug an HDMI cable into my laptop's port and voila, I have two extended screens.This also has a webcam, keyboard and laptop dongle, headset, and an ethernet cable plugged in, turning my laptop into a full-on PC like I have at work. Perfect for the current crisis, and will be great even afterwards for the days I can't travel to work.Highly recommended.

This product is honestly amazing. I was fully prepared for it not to work after months of trying to get dual monitors to work with my laptop. But plugged my two screens, mouse and keyboard, printer and webcam in, connected to my laptop and boom it worked straight away. Didn't even have to install any drivers.Highly recommend - it's neat, smart and compact, it really has filled a gap in the market as docking stations are usually in the hundreds of pounds seemingly unnecessarily. This is a non-negotiable if you're a home worker and so cheap!

This has been a lifesaver when connecting up another monitor to my laptop. I'd previously used a cheap wire connection to link the two but this tended to result in connection problems intermittingly. With the hub I can link the two without any issue.The additional USB ports mean I can leave my external hard drive connected to this hub as I always leave this at home when I take my laptop away. When I return this is always ready to go. Same with keyboard (I have my laptop on a stand so the keyboard on this is hard to use at my desk).I did install the disc that came with it but I can't really see why it was required. Having already accidentally plugging in and using it before I'd even though about that. I suspect any drivers that on the disc are outdated anyway by the time I'd go it.

This was relatively easy to setup once you have downloaded the driver from the website. My main issue was that I was I tried connecting the laptop using one of the front ports instead of the using the USB A port at the back.I also found I needed to turn the dock off and on for it to detect my new monitors when I upgraded them.That said this is a cheap alternative to some of the more expensive docks.It's worth noting that you need to install a custom driver, so if your laptop is locked down (e.g. By a work IT department) then you might struggle with this product.

USB3 docks have always been stupidly expensive, so I have forced my colleagues to live without and re-cable their laptops every morning. To be fair they haven't complained much.This AmazonBasics dock caught my eye with a sensible and the backing of the basics brand, which has only let me down a couple of times. It works perfectly and a wide range of laptops have happily plug and played.So good, and such good value that I have already bought a few more, and now some of the staff are complaining - the ones who don't yet have a dock and realise they are missing out.So the only negative is that you'll end up buying loads of them!Highly recommended, one of my finds of the year.

Works fine for connecting my work laptop to a monitor via HDMI.Came with a driver installation CD but works fine without this on Windows 10 (good job it does as I don't own a CD drive).Looks cheap but the stand has some weight to it, which I didn't expect, so it's actually quite sturdy standing up on a desk.Only real issue is that the USB port at the front that claims to support fast charging... doesn't. 2 and a half hours to charge a Galaxy S10 from 50% to 94% isn't what I'd call fast. Not a dealbreaker as I didn't buy it for this feature, but if this is a problem for you then I'd recommend spending a bit more for a named brand product.
