Reflex Ankle Foot Orthosis is designed to ensure lateral stability and support for the ankle and foot, and to provide assistance with foot drop associated with weakness or paralysis of the muscles involved in lifting the front part of the foot. Conditions that may lead to foot drop may include hemiplegia, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, weakness of weak anterior tibialis muscle, lower motor neuron (LMN) disease, and some other conditions. The splint can also be used for post-op immobilization after tendon surgery. The ankle foot orthosis is made of lightweight durable thermoplastic material and features an anatomical leaf spring design with variable thickness throughout the splint. Thicker rigid vertical part of the AFO provides strong lateral stability for the entire foot-ankle area and static dorsiflexion assistance, supporting the foot at 90o angle. Thinner foot plate allows for a more comfortable wearing experience without hindering essential movement.Padded hook-and-loop strap secures the brace around the calf; another removable padded strap can be used to secure the orthosis around the ankle. Velcro fastening on the straps allows to adjust the fit.The low arch and open heel design give the AFO a streamlined profile that takes up minimal space in the shoe.Due to its innovative features, the Reflex Ankle Foot Orthosis offers instant relief and support, keeping the foot and ankle in a comfortable yet stable position, and allowing to continue being active.Available for both the right and the left leg.Sizing based on European shoe size: (EU)Small: 37 - 38 EUMedium: 39 - 40 EU Large: 41 - 42 EU X-Large: 43 - 44 EU

Awesome velcro
The Velcro is awesome. Stays attached all day. The strap around the ankle is cumbersome. Took it off and the brace still works.

This helps with my drop foot.
I can wear it on the outside of thin material sweats. I think the part near the ankle could be more forward. It's a little challenging getting your foot into a shoe, though. I'd like to be able to trim the back of the AFO. Plus side about it, if you have house slippers that wrap around your heel (like a moccasin) you can insert the AFO while wearing it so you can use it indoors. It was easier to insert since the cuff wasn't so high.

The perfect product for people like me!
I bought this afo after 4 years of being in a full, heavy afo, after my stroke. I asked my orthotist about a less heavy and hot afo, because it was summer and 80+ days where it was so hot with my current brace, and was told that i had to be in a full afo for my condition. I saw this brace on amazon, and i got to wondering if it would work for me. When i saw this afo for a fraction of the price of some others that were just like it, i had to try it. It came quickly and it worked well for my foot drop, and i couldnt believe it! 4 miserable years i lived with my other afo! The only problem i have with it is, my knees are bad and my leg has shrunk so much from non-use of it for 4 years, that it causes my leg to lock my knee in an abnormally severe angle, that it almost bends backwards wt the knee. It is through no fault of the brace, because i am double jointed in my hips, knees, fingers and jaw! i was wondering if there is any way to heat the afo up with say a hair dryer, and bend it slighty, so my leg wouldnt straighten completetly? If anyone knows, i would love to find out. If so, the afo would be perfect and just what i needed. The afo is a wonderful product and just what people like me needed! If i would have found it sooner, i could have saved myself years of misery!

it makes for a good stand by when you're waiting for you custom afo to come in.
I wear a custom afo but mind was broken and had to order a new one & this came in handy until my custom one was ready. its not the best but its better than nothing.

Good function Poor comfort
I purchased this orthotic because it allows for some vertical motion of my foot that I need in certain situations such as going up and down stairs. That feature works as expected, and I found much improved stability on stairs. However, I found the device to be uncomfortable to wear for an extended time due to the edges of the plastic pressing against my ankle. I could only leave it in place for a short time and could not use it for long walks. I considered wrapping my ankle but had insufficient space within my shoe. Given the right shoes, it may be able to be worn without discomfort.

Uncomfortable brace
The brace is very uncomfortable. It hurts my foot.

So far it's working.
I've only been using it for a few days, but it seems to be doing the job. My foot does not drop while wearing it. BUT, I will need to add some sort of cushioning around the edges. It does cut into the skin. I will probably add some moleskin. This is a feature that the company might want to look into to increase the comfort level. The price was very good. I would be happy to pay more for a little more comfort.

This AFO is just like the one my podiatrist gave me after my stroke.
This AFO is superb in which it helps steady your gait, and help with drop foot.

Gamechanger
This brace has given me back my life instantly. I had my foot reconstructed 7 months ago and have been in constant pain and unable to walk without a walking stick and facing into more surgery to try to ease the pain. It looked like I'd never get close to normal life again. This product arrived on a day I'd had to leave work from crippling pain. I put it on and I could walk pain free. It's flexible enough to also wear while driving. I won't be running marathons with it but I can absolutely have a normal life now. I went from not being able to walk and carry a cup of tea to walking to the shop without a stick and back in a day. I'm in my 20's and thought that would be beyond me permanently. It's a bit sharp but I found a blister plaster around the arch support works wonders and wearing it over your trousers stops it digging in.

More like a medieval instrument...
of torture!I found the thing dreadfully uncomfortable; actually quite painful, cutting into my calf and instep.Apart from that, it was too flexible, allowing my foot to point down easily, so pretty much useless.I realise that I could have modified it by the use of heat but I wasn't prepared to risk it and just returned it instead.Perhaps the enclosed leaflet 'User Manuel' (sic) should have given me a clue!

Not comfortable at all
This has to be the most uncomfortable thing next to nails in the eyeballs, it pinches my calf muscle to beyond submission it shifts front and back even with it tight as heck to squeeze the last morsel of blood outta my calf even when wearing it with a shoe/trainer on its bad, the straps don't line up with each other properly specially the top strap which goes round the calf and shin, digs into achilles tendon rubbing in down to the tendon itself if ilthis site had a - 5 that's what this PoS would have got don't waste your money

Poor item with wrongly sized straps & no Velcro where it’s needed.
Completely wrong despite being recommended by my physio. It was such agony to wear it in any way, I abandoned its use very quickly. I would say avoid it. The only leg splint that has ever worked for me was bespoke & made many years ago.

Not the best
Rivets not covered. Rough at some of the edges. No padding at the top & narrow at the top
