Domke F-831 Small Photo Courier Bag (Brown RuggedWear)

Let me begin by saying that I have purchased many, many camera bags in my lifetime always looking for the one that will be perfect for my needs. Of all those bags this one comes close. The problem is that it could have been so much more if a little thought had been put into its design. The bag is very well made but has little protective material so if you are looking for a bag that you can drop with all your expensive equipment inside and not have to worry you might not want this bag. It is made of quality canvas and the workmanship is superb however it is pricy and for the amount of money it costs it should include much more. For one tenth the cost one can find many similar sized canvas messenger type bags on Amazon. I would have expected a padded insert with at least two dividers. No such luck. All that comes is a strange little divider that I have not been able to figure out how to use, a thin removable liner, and that is it. I would have cost pennies to add two usable removable dividers. It has room enough for lots of micro 4/3 bodies and lenses but so would a paper grocery bag. its about that size but anything you put inside would not be protected from anything else inside. Also for a bag that is not supposed to look like a camera bag one would think that Domke could have been a little more discrete in the labeling so as not to declare to the world "I have a camera bag that doesn't look like a camera bag". For the amount of money this costs I should not have to be a walking advertisement for Domke. The back panel is made so that it can slip over the handle of a rolling luggage bag but it would have been much better if they had put a velcro closure on the bottom so one who does not spend his life with a luggage bag could use it as a pocket to carry various things and still retain the possibility of using it with luggage. The inside of the front flap has a very nice zippered pocket where one can put extra batteries cables etc. I suppose that the biggest problem with this bag is that it needs a good padded insert with at least two dividers to protect what photo equipment you put inside and for the price point it should include such. I like the size, design and materials but because it is so bare bones for the price I can only give it four stars.

This is a beautiful bag, love the fabric, very soft. It would have been perfect for me except for the lack of pockets. I thought there was a big pocket in the back (for an Ipad etc) but it's not a pocket- it's a slot that you would fit over a luggage handle. I wouldn't get a lot of use out of this, would have been better as a pocket. But the bag is beautiful and I hated to return it.

I bought this bag for my field research camera, and it is perfect. It repels water which is important (rainforest) and has just enough space for what I need (camera, 2 lenses and a few accessories). Strap is wide and comfortable and has no slide, grip strips that keep it stable.

This was a gift for someone who takes a lot of pictures & video. It's light holds a lot of stuff, sturdy and very good looking. I was worried that it wouldn't come in time but it did. The packaging was great.

Love the style of this bag. It holds my canon rebel t3, lenses, mini tripod, charger, and extra memory cards. Included divider makes customizing the compartments super-easy.
