Great turntable, classic look
Great turntable, classic look. The speakers work great, and they get plenty loud. Not the clearest of sound but all in all and great buy. My only problem is when I hooked up my phone to listen to Pandora, then I had to turn the volume way up to hear it.

all I expected
I've just received and installed my Crosley turntable and I'm very satisfied with it's manufacture quality, dimensions and performance. The radio device has very good reception. The incorporated speaker sounds allright, though it does not reach a very high volume, but it should be enough to listen your records within a room. Two great characteristics that are not specified in the description are the additional speaker pluggs and the output port in the back of the player, through which you may connect it to a stereo and obtain greater volume with equally good sound definition. So far, awesome.

A paper cup and sewing needle sounds better.
Don't waste your money on this. The lid doesn't even flip back. You have to take it off and rest it somewhere which means it will get scratched. It's paper thin. The unit is so light it slides around when you put the record on. (Crosley, try using rubber feet, and attach the lid). The sound was so low, the birds chirping in my yard drowned out my $22 remastered version of St. Peppers. The sound is atrocious. There should be an LCD screen on the front with closed captioning so you know what the lyrics are because you'll never hear it. Folks, you get what you pay for. There is an RCA outlet in the back. But as they say in sound engineering, "junk in, junk out." Hey Crosley, the look is great. Now go ahead charge us an extra $20 and make a more solid product. One that you can be proud of and one that makes people with ears happy!

Does what it’s supposed to do.
People. It’s a $45 record player. This same player is $99 on Target.com. This is my first record player, so I don’t have much to compare it too. I know it’s not some durable, collectible item. It’s not Bose quality. That being said, it plays records and looks cute, which is it’s whole purpose. I’ve got a small condo and can hear it just fine, but if you were in some huge house then yeah, you’ll need a speaker. It wasn’t hard to set up, looks great, sounds great; it’s a bang for your buck. Cheerio.

Try something else
This thing works. But as others have complained, the speakers are only good if you're sitting right there to listen. Don't expect to party unless you've added speakers to the outlets available in the back. Vinyl in particular just can't get volume, but when using the mp3 jack you can get a little more leverage by maxing out both players' volume.Lastly, the mp3 jack is pretty loose despite not constantly plugging/unplugging our cable. We leave it in and it's still loose. It's only a matter of time before the whole thing stops working. I wouldn't buy this again, and it's only been about 11 months of occasional use.

Plays records, looks cool, but isn't loud
Other reviews will tell you similar things.Overall, the record player works great. It does exactly what I need it to do, and that is play records. It can play anything I want it to, and it has a nice look to it.The only thing that could be negative about it is the speaker quality in regards to volume. Behind my desk in my classroom, I can hear it just fine. But across the room, it is not as clear and is somewhat hushed. It has enough power in it to fill a quiet room, but not a large space, and that can be an issue if you plan to buy it to act as a source of loud music. If you're just doing some easy listening at home, it will do everything you want. But if you want it to produce a lot of sound, you'll need some speakers.

Good player w/ decent volume. Great player with external speakers!
Awesome player but you need to add some external speakers if you want more volume. Nice build quality, exactly what you'd expect from Crosley. Make sure your records are clean because people are blaming there player for skips and pops, if your records are clean your good to go.

Cheaply made and speaker sound is sub-par!
This is a great product if you want your kid to have a vinyl record player and don't care about the records being used since the needle on this unit will destroy them. The speaker sounds horrible, so you would have to hook up external speakers for a decent sound.
