It works like a microwave should but the install was a challange
I bought this Frigidaire microwave to replace a previous Frigidaire microwave that died. I bought it with the assumption that it would be an easy install since it was the same brand and also the Gallery Series. Being the same brand and series, I would have expected SOME thing to remain as before. WRONG!!!! The electrical cord came out at a different location meaning I had to drill a different hole in the bottom of the existing cabinet. The rear hanging bracket also had to be changed since the old one was not compatible. The three bolts in the top that holds the microwave were close but being about 1 1/2" apart from the previous model that also meant drilling three new holes in the bottom of my cabinet. The bottom of my cabinet looked like Swiss cheese by now. Since my previous model also vented out the top, I felt that maybe things would line up fine. Wrong again, the new microwave upper vent sits about 3/4" to the left of the older Frigidaire. This required modifying my metal exhaust duct to accommodate the offset.Overall I am pleased with the microwave but I am very disappointed that Frigidaire could not retain SOME of the measurements on the new model to make an installation to replace a failed Frigidaire unit easier. If you are starting from scratch with new cabinets, none of my installation difficulties will be an issue. There are some installation measurements that might be a challenge such as 9-27/32". Trust me, the paper template is not that accurate but if you drill big enough holes........My old broken Frigidaire microwave did fit exactly in to the box that came with the new unit so since I opened it very carefully from the bottom, it is now sitting out on my front porch waiting for some porch pirates to haul it away.

Installation can be a bit of work...
I replaced an older Frigidaire microwave with this one. The mounting system was different, so I had to do some messing around to install it, but it wasn't rocket science. They provide a couple nice templates that show where you have to drill holes in cabinets/walls. if you have half a brain, a little muscle, and few tools you can install this unit.As far as cooking goes, it's a microwave. I think they're all about the same. The down light that lights up the stove top is reasonably bright, and the lights inside the oven are good too. The control panel is easy to clean. The exhaust fan that vents outside the house in my installation, is a bit noisy, but seems to do an adequate job of moving smoke and steam from the stovetop.

Why incessant beeping?
Product is fine other than two annoying things. 1) when installing, the nut (which is clipped with plastic clips from inside the microwave housing) popped out when we were trying to bolt it in, and fell through into the inside of the microwave, which was a pain to remedy. 2) when the microwave finishes running, it incessantly beeps until you open the microwave door. Kids will put stuff in microwave and walk out of room leaving me to stop what I’m doing to open and shut the microwave door in order to stop the incessant beeping. Per manual and company there is no way to turn this feature off... unless you totally turn the sound off completely, meaning there is absolutely no beep and timer will not sound either. Why incessantly beep? It’s not like your food will explode if you don’t get it out of the microwave after it’s run it’s cycle. The end. :)

Good - but noisy
So far this has been a good replacement for our microwave that died after 10 years...but I gave it 4 stars (instead of 5) because it is the noisiest microwave I have ever owned. Beeping after your food is done cooking does not stop until you open the door (great if you often forget that you put something in there - but annoying if you are multi-tasking in the kitchen...as most people do).

Good microwave, annoying buzzer!
Everything is great about this but the buzzer will drive you CRAZY if you are too busy to take your food out right away. It is loud and makes a long, piercing tone like a hospital flatline-alarm, and it doesn't pause more than a couple seconds between beeps. Its like a robot throwing a temper tantrum. I reccomend turning the sound off completely

I am satisfied
I had to replace my Microwave & wanted to get one that matched my stainless steel appliances. It looks almost like the previous one & it also is in the gallery collection. The light is much brighter & also the tone when the food is finished. Wasn't too hard to install - just had to drill new holes.

Don't pull on the drawers to close!
The drawers are not secure. If you inadvertently pull on a drawer instead of the door itself, it all spills out onto the floor!!!

Love this microwave!
We would recommend this microwave. It is mounted over our stove to free up cabinet space. I love that you just pull the handle to open the door instead of pushing a button. Roomy enough inside for more than one dish. The beeper is loud enough and continues to beep every few seconds to remind you that there is something in there. The outside is sleek , too. Hope we never have to replace it but if we did I would buy it again.
