Fantastic construction as to be expected from Lowa
Fantastic construction as to be expected from Lowa.A little less volume than the typical Lowa boot. I think these may be more of a streamlined design that would preform well while climbing.

best for me
I looked at a lot of brands, I like Garmont and Scarpa, too. I used to like Vasque. However, because I already a had a pair LOWA boots that fit perfectly, I went w/LOWA, again. I could not have made a better decision. The boots were tight when I first tried them on. However, after an hour of wearing them around the house, they loosened.I wore them the very next day on a 2 mile hike with a 30 lbs backpack. No problems...they felt great . I did the same the following day and they felt even better.Pros:1)The boot is designed to push your feet straight and forward. This helped me hike faster.2)Your feet are secured to prevent any rolling in the boot itself. The side of my foot rolled the other day in my Alicos. (Ouch and hence my new LOWAs.)3) There is room for your feet, however, to flex a little and breathe in the boot.4) While the outer sole is very stiff, there is cushion in the sole. (I've had plantar facitis, twice and very flat feet.)5) The complete toe area of the boot is wrapped/protected with a plastic that is hard enough to kick a step into ice. (Some boots only have the toe wrapped - about 2 inches...)6) The boots are light on my feet.7) I bought a second pair so I could switch every other day...these boots are the best!Con:Shoe strings barely long enough. I had to buy a longer paid for $7 dollars.

Too short shoelaces!
1. Little bit heavier than I expected.2. Shoelaces are too short to fasten. They shall be lengthend 8~10inchs.3. Very good design.

amazing boot
These are amazing boots. They ha e taken a beating from me from scaling mountains and ice sheets to really rocky trailed around 8k-10k elevations. These have not disappointed. The soles haven't even shown signs of disintegration like most other hiking boots I have bought. I will say that if you get these, get a Hal six bigger to allow for some room for descents so your toes dont get smashed. These are best for slender feet. WATCH OUT WHEN THESE GET WET! There will be no grip what so ever. This is minor in my book because I am cautious on wet surfaces. Great boot over all though. I have 300+ miles on these already and they are going strong.

Great boot
Although these boots are a little tight at first it is mainly because of the lacing system. I took them out on a yomp this morning and was impressed right away. The were a little tight around the top of my foot but I adjusted them and they were fine. The interesting point is that the top of the boot was actually untied and I never knew it because the boot didn't loosen up at all.I normally wear a 10.5 even in Lowa's which run short. I got a size 11 and was glad I did, the smaller size would not have worked at all.
