Reliable and compact ice maker – still going strong after a year!
🗓️ Length of Ownership: I’ve had this ice maker for almost a year now, and I’m genuinely impressed by how well it’s held up. I wasn’t expecting it to last this long for the price, but it’s been a great investment, especially during the summer. ❄️ Performance: We keep the machine running constantly in the warmer months, and it consistently provides fresh ice throughout the day. You can choose between small or large ice cubes—though even the “large” ones aren’t huge, they’re a perfect size for our drinks. As long as the bin isn’t full, the machine keeps producing ice reliably without any issues. 🧼 Maintenance: Taking care of this machine has been very simple. About once every two weeks, I wipe it down with vinegar and warm water—mainly the inside compartment and the removable basket. That’s really all it takes to keep it clean and running smoothly. It’s not complicated at all and only takes a few minutes. 🔊 Noise Level: The noise level is surprisingly reasonable. It’s not silent, but it’s definitely not loud enough to be annoying. We usually have it running in the background, and it doesn’t bother us at all. 👨👩👧 Usage & Capacity: It’s just my husband and me using it, and it easily covers our daily needs—typically 6 to 8 drinks a day in the summer. If you have a larger family or entertain often, you might want something with a higher capacity, but for us, this size is just right. ✅ Pros: Still working great after nearly a year Compact and stylish design Option to choose between small and large cubes Reasonably quiet operation Very easy to clean and maintain Perfect for small households or couples ❌ Cons: Ice output might not be enough for large families “Large” cube size is still relatively small (just FYI) 💬 Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a reliable countertop ice maker that doesn’t take up much space and delivers consistent performance, this one is a great choice. It’s easy to use, easy to maintain, and perfect for keeping your drinks cold all summer long. We’re very happy with it and would definitely buy it again.

Worth Ever Penny
Awesome for the price. It’s reliable and super quick on whipping out batches of ice. The sizes of the cubes are good and the ice doesn’t melt quickly like our old unit. The noise level is tolerable and it’s super easy to clean.

Springs in expandable bucket aren’t strong enough.
Very good ice maker. I bought the one with the expanding ice bucket thinking it would be better to have a larger container for the ice. The springs that let it expand aren’t strong enough, so anytime ice is there it sinks down to the bottom into the water. I primarily drink water, so this isn’t a problem for me. But if I was to use the ice for soft drinks it would water them down much faster. The machine is quiet and makes ice quickly.

Great Purchase!
We purchased an Antarctic Star that was returned right away. We're so glad we decided on this Silonn. It met all of our requirements: An actual power button, it's quiet(hopefully you can tell that in the video), self-cleaning, has a drain plug on the bottom, the large sized cubes really are a good size, it works quickly and it cost much less than the Antarctic Star. Our freezer doesn't have an ice maker so we use it to keep the freezer's ice bucket and two other "backup" freezer containers full of ice. We probably run it several hours about every two weeks. There are two "cons" but nothing that would make us return it. 1) The inside filter cover is very small and narrow making it difficult to remove for cleaning. I have to use needle nosed pliers for this and 2)All of the buttons are "soft touch" activated so you have to be careful you don't accidentally "brush" by them. Would have preferred really having to "push" them instead.

Initial impression is great. EDIT: Worked Great for 630 days
UPDATE: This thing worked awesome for 630 days, bought originally on Oct 14, 2022 for $119.99, stopped working July 5 2024 - was on pretty much 24/7 that entire time, used daily for iced coffees (even in winter lol). Something is preventing the little cage from going up all the way to cover the little individual metal ice makers and I don't know how to take it apart. That said I would recommend this, I had the basic version, looks like they have an upgraded version now - maybe I'll try that one. OG Review: Got this about 2 days ago. First I followed the directions and let it sit upright for 24 hours so the coolant can settle properly after shipping, then put it half over the sink and wiped down the inside with a soft cloth soaked in 1:1 distilled white vinegar and water, rinsed out the inside multiple times and drained it into the sink (there's a plug at the bottom to drain water). No bad taste, and the ice is made really quickly. Some reviews say the ice melts too quickly to leave in the hopper, but that isn't my experience. I did fill a gallon sized freezer bag with some of the ice and put it in the freezer for some reserve ice, and I've just been letting the ice machine run. It's about as quiet as a microwave. Some people say the ice melts a little bit and the ice gets stuck together in the hopper, which is true of any ice maker (anyone remember the ones in hotels that you have to chop up with the scoop?). The included scoop works just fine to break up any stuck together ice, doesn't take much force at all. The amount of ice in a full hopper is enough for a little more than two full 16 oz cups of ice, so store some extra in the freezer if you want to keep more on hand.

Wouldn’t buy again!
VERY high maintenance machine!! Makes ice, BUT… DO NOT LET WATER SIT IN THIS UNIT - NOT EVEN FOR ONE DAY! I go through a LOT of ice! I make ice every other day. When I had to replace my Avalon Bay Ice Cube Maker I was incredibly disappointed that they no longer make countertop models. That unit lasted me for 12 years! Maintenance on my Avalon Bay machine was incredibly simple. I rubbed it down thoroughly with lemon juice probably every other week, and once a month ran a lemon juice mixture through the machine. I never had any issues with my machine (and once a quarter gave it a cleaning with vinegar water). The ice always tasted fresh and clean. Its downfall was when the scoop finally broke. 12 years NO chemical cleaning necessary! Remember, I make a LOT of ice, so it performed famously! This new machine is SO high maintenance! I make approximately one and a half full reservoirs of ice cubes every other day, so the machine NEVER sits inactive long. If I leave any trace of water in this unit overnight, when I fill the reservoir with water I get black floating gunk/film emerge from the tube that sucks the water up into the unit. After making ice I have to tilt the machine to ensure that all water is emptied when I am done making ice. I also remove the little gasket/cover inside the reservoir, tube up a paper-towel and stick it into that tube that sucks water into the machine, tilt it forward, to help ensure all water from the tubes are evacuated. This has to be a flaw in the design that causes water to pool in the tubing in order for it to create scaling and mold of this nature within the unit. I never once had that issue with my Avalon Bay unit in 12 years. This started with Silonn unit within the first week after I got the unit. I did a thorough cleaning and descaling of the unit with chemical descalers (which I like to avoid for health reasons), then ran water and vinegar through it to ensure it is clean. Now when I make ice I have made a habit of dumping all water from the unit, making sure the unit is dry, and give it a rub-down with lemon. Now that I have started that routine I have not had anymore issues with it, but it is a pain not being able to allow water to sit in this unit for just one day. Yes, I use filtered water.

Works great!
I had my doubts about whether this would actually work or not, and so far it’s been wonderful. We have questionable water in central Florida so we don’t want to even use the filtered H2O from the frig. We bought this, use bottled water, and it produces large and small bullet cubes. The noise level doesn’t bother us as we generally don’t stay in the kitchen. We also don’t run it constantly, just when we need ice. It also saves a lot in not having to go to the store for bags of ice, which we aren’t sure about the water they use either. It has more than paid for itself in 2 weeks with all the ice it has made. It seems to be very durable, so far great buy for the money, and easy to use. The ice quality is great, and it looks fine. We also bought this to take in our camper as going to the store for ice all the time is a pain.

Good icemaker for low usage
I’ve had this countertop ice maker for several months. It’s dependable. Works as long as you keep the water level up. Makes new ice about every 6 minutes or so. Once basket is full, will pause until level goes down. Two size ice. I like the larger size. Makes a little noise when filling. Then when the ice drops. I empty when full to a basket in my freezer and keep the ice maker running. I also find myself supplementing my refrigerator ice maker to keep up with our ice usage. I call it wet ice until placed in the freezer. The ice maker will not keep your ice and will eventually melt. A good ice maker, for low usage.

Extremely dissapoited.
I deliberately bought expensive ice maker to assure I get quality. It arrived, I opened it. Not working! No ice but water. From second it was on. Too expensive for such a disappointment. Please replace.
