INTEX Krystal Clear 1,000 GPH Cartridge Filter Pump for Above Ground Pools

Amazing!! I wouldn’t normally take the time to post a review since I assume most reviews aren’t even legit anymore. However, if I can save someone the agony of buying the wrong pump & eventually having to spend even more money to just buy this one later, I’m happy to help. I originally thought a smaller pump would suffice for my only 10 foot round pool. Assuming it only holds about 1000 gals of water, 530 gph seemed sufficient, and a lot of internet answers confirmed it was. Well it was only good enough while I kept my pool covered with a beach canopy & also a screen around the whole thing. Once it cooled off a little I removed the canopy & unfortunately around the same time, I ran out of shock powder. So those two changes alone allowed my pool to turn nasty cloud green within a week. Nothing I did helped. Even ran the pump 24/7. I finally gave in & bought this new pump, about $30 more but soooo worth it! It was pretty simple to install (I can hardly read most days & I figured it out.) within an hour of turning it on my pool was clearing up. I attached a before & after but the before pic doesn’t do the nastiness justice! It was so green & cloudy you couldn’t even see a hand placed just a few inches under the water. I did add a lb of shock powder too so I’m sure that helped but this pump worked a miracle today!! I’ll probably only need to run it maybe 8-10 hours a day which is less than half of what I was running the old one. 100% recommend.

This pump broke within the first two weeks. I believe it was just a faulty one. As soon as I dropped it off at a UPS within that day I already got a note back saying I would be refunded and I was. I just ordered another one. This time I got the Insurance on it. When it worked it had a lot of power. I love the extra features it has that others don’t. Thank you for nice product and timely credit. I’m hoping the next one will last longer

Perfect Pump for a 1000 Gl pool. The pumps look great and works great. Using it for a week and the water is crystal clear. It came with all the kits except for the Hose. It just took 5 minutes to install and screw it into deck. The timer works great and shuts off the pump after the desired hours. So far very pleased.

Overall, I’ve been happy with the pump itself, but I wanted to share a solution in case anyone runs into the same issue I did. After about a month, my pump suddenly stopped working. The GFCI plug still had a solid green light, but the pump was completely silent. I initially thought the motor had failed, but that wasn’t the case. We discovered that water had gotten inside the GFCI plug assembly and damaged the electronics, which also caused the built-in timer to stop working. From reading other reviews, I’ve noticed several people mention their pumps randomly quitting after about a month, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some of those failures are actually the GFCI plug and not the pump itself. Our fix was to remove the failed GFCI plug and install a new standard plug. Since the built-in timer was no longer functional, we added an outdoor-rated timer and keep the connection inside a weatherproof electrical box. Important: This should only be done if the outlet you’re plugging into is already GFCI-protected. If your outlet isn’t GFCI-protected, don’t bypass the original GFCI plug. My advice is to protect the plug from the start. Don’t let it sit where rain, splashing pool water, or sprinklers can get to it. Keeping the plug dry may help prevent this issue altogether. The pump itself has worked great, so I’m leaving a good review. I just wanted to share this because it might save someone from replacing an otherwise perfectly good pump or going through the warranty process only to have the same thing happen again.

This filter pump has been a great addition to our pool setup. The 1,000 GPH flow rate works well for keeping the water circulating, and the setup is straightforward. I like that the cartridge is easy to access when it needs to be cleaned or replaced. It does a good job keeping the water moving and filtering out debris, and it’s a convenient option for a smaller pool.

I bought this pump in 2021 -- coming here to chime in and say it lasted at least until 2025. Now when I went to set it up for this season it keeps tripping the GFI plug and won't turn on. I guess you could say it had a good run. Never thought about how long we've had it but when I came to check my order history I realized it was 5 years old. I'd give it plenty of starts for durability.

I was skeptical at first because so many people say you have to go with a sand filter but we just weren't in the spot to invest into one at the time. This filter has worked great and it came with the hoses to hook it up. The hoses and connectors alone make this product worth buying since they are so expensive to buy separately. The only negatives were I do not like that you can't shut off the water flow with what it comes with to change out the filter and I have had a hard time getting it to work with a pool vacuum.

This pump recycles the water in our 14 ft swimming pool very efficiently, especially with the skimmer attached. The suction allows the skimmer accessory effectively clean the surface water, while the pump filters the rest of the water. Regular, weekly washing of the filter will ensure water stays very clear.

It's got American plug and can't be converted or used in the UK, misleading sale after waiting almost 12 days for delivery, poor service by amazon again

After ordering, advised to buy a step down converter. The one I bought wasnt suitable. Needed 2kw and cost 7.5k. Too much expense.
