There's better cases out there.. eh
I dislike writing bad, or even neutral reviews. But I received this in the mail, and immediately knew it wasn't for me. It's EXTREMELY bulky, and fits your phone like any other polymer case, it bends around your phone. Am I the only person to experience a case not fitting after being in the sun too long, or the phone being removed one too many times? I find the "bend around the phone" case method to be cheap, lacking of quality, and not effective long term. I wish I went with a 2 piece mophie, or similar design... The increased bulk in my pocket alone is a flaw, not to mention how falsely represented the actual bulk is on this Amazon ad. Not to mention the extremely slippery (but matte?) polymer surface on this case WANTS to slip out of your hands. Very disappointing. The battery is OK at best, charging it is quick sure, but a full charge on my case has yet to bring my phone past 75% from 10%, may be an isolated incident, who knows. I'm not offering solutions here, just an honest guy who hates wasting $40+. Review edited for clarityUPDATE. 2.5 weeks later, it now will only bring my Battery up by about 35-40%. Plus the back gets insanely hot while charging, even while in the open air. Extremely dissatisfied.

There are a few problems with this battery case ...
The first, which led me to discover the second, is that it doesn't actually provide any side shielding to the touch screen. This is annoying in that it is easy when holding the phone in this case to trigger the wrong app as the screen's touch sensitivity gets thrown off by a a side touch. The more nasty consequent of this is that it does not protect the corners of the screen from abrasion. I'm pretty careful with my phone (every one I've ever owned) and was alarmed to notice this one showing scratches in the extreme corners of the screen. They are outside the display area but are caused by the face that the phone screen sits well above the case and therefore becomes vulnerable to abrasion within a pocket. That's pretty awful. So, I removed the battery case and went back to my simple Spigen case, which protects the sides of the screen. Then I found the truly awful problem with this battery case:I had noticed that my phone's battery life had become very short and never connected it with the battery case. I just thought I had some runaway apps on the phone. However, when I removed the battery case, my phone's built in battery life when back to normal!Since I'm very involved in technology, being an engineer, I suspect that the circuit between the phone and the case battery does not contain protection from the case running down the phone battery through an ever present resistive load on the phone's USB port. It seems a bit hard to believe but that's the only possible explanation.I would return this case but I'm outside the 30 days Amazon return period. Hopefully this review will save others the waste of money and risk to the screen of their phones.

Great Product. Does Exactly What It's Supposed To Do. High Quality.
This battery case is great for giving you piece-of-mind when it comes to cell phone battery life. The 5200mAh battery gives about 1.4 full charges before it is depleted, so it is great if you are away from a power source for a few days. I took it on a 3-day trip to Chicago and didn't have to worry about having a dead phone once. The case has a smooth rubber coating, which provides protection and adequate grip. It is a battery case, so it does add some weight and extra thickness to your phone, but once it is in your pocket you don't really notice it. While it is charging the phone it does get a little warm to the touch, but again, not bad. All-in-all, a good product.

Great case, couple minor issues
This case is fantastic, except for a couple minor issues. It has excellent charging and battery life. It is comfortable to hold, and I have no complaints with its ability to protect the phone in the event that it falls. There are two issues that prevent a full 5 star review, and one additional note. The first issue is that the case occasionally enters a fault state when you first plug it in, where it will start charging/stop charging cycle repeatedly. I've only had this happen a couple times, but I have two of these cases and both have done it. If this happens, unplugging and replugging the charging cable has solved the problem. The other issue, is that the charging light is a blue LED that flashes. I'm pretty sure it is bright enough that aliens can see it from space. It is not conducive to sleeping, if you are in the habit of charging your phone on your nightstand. I've solved this problem with a dab of black nail polish. The last thing to be aware of, which I personally think is a pro, but some may view as a con: When the case is installed, you cannot use USB debugging (such as ADB) on the phone or share files off the phone over USB. It will block all of that. I personally like this as it means I am less concerned about plugging my phone into dodgy chargers on the road. The case goes on and off fairly easily, so it isn't a problem to remove it when you need this functionality.

Leaves a bit to be desired... But it does charge, and it is slim
I'm not a big fan of this battery case, but I think it is probably one of the better looking ones. It really isn't too bulky, it just doubles the thickness of the Pixel 2 XL.There are no raised bezels on this case, which is very unfortunate. This means your screen actually sticks out of the case just a bit, but it's enough to offer zero protection to the entire front of the phone, no matter if you drop it on a corner, side or definitely face. I use a glass screen protector (already difficult to find decent ones) and have broken TWO of the $40 protectors. The first one was a drop. The second was pressure against a tool in my pocket. Both my fault, however, raised bezels would help with drops. The battery doesn't seem to actually be 5200 mAh, but closer to perhaps 3000. And it does get quite hot when charging. But what battery doesn't?I can no longer charge both my phone and case at the same time after 3 months. When I plug it in, my phone charges intermittently (on and off) and it's quite annoying, and worries me I may damage the phone.
