Pretty Easy Install
Installed in my f56 in about 15 min. Would have been faster but the item didn't come with directions and I didn't have the tools I needed handy. My advice is have a magnet stick ready when taking the screws out of the steering column as I dropped a screw behind the column and my big hands couldn't reach it. All in all it works and holds my pixel 7 very snug.

good but...
the metal arm: strong as anything and has held solid for 1.5 year.little plastic phone clip: broke within 3 months. both springs snapped and won't hold a phone at all, then the ball joint in back cracked in half.metal, solid. plastic, crap. company has no option of just buying the clip piece either...

Seems decent value, install a little tricky, no instructions & comes w/wrong tool(s)
The title says it all, really.Negatives:1. the unit came w/no instructions and a web address for the install guide has a 404 error code, so I had to search the internet for YouTube videos of the install for a different manufacturer of a similar unit2. the unit came with a different tool than the one pictured -- a combo Phillips head screwdriver and a torx-head screwdriver3. Neither of these tools works -- the Phillips head end of the tool is too short to use easily, and the torx-head end is actually the wrong size, so I had to spend another $6 and waste time going to a hardware store in addition to going home to to retrieve my own Phillips head screwdriver to get the job done4. After removing the retaining screws that secure the instrument cluster to the dashboard, I had to remove the little plastic retaining clip that connects the cluster to the car's electronics -- very fiddly in my experience until you figure it out; this is not the manufacturer's fault, though, but it's definitely something a set of decent instructions could/would have warned ofPositives:1. The mounting bracket is actually metal, not plastic and that was a pleasant surprise2. Once mounted, the bracket looks OEM and seems pretty stable3. The "claw" grasping my phone is plastic, but also good quality, with a expansion rod at the back that that nicely accommodates my iPhone XR in its case with no problem4. The "claw" has nice black-and-white version of the Union Flag when the phone is not there5. The whole thing looks very nice once installed and with the phone in place6. It seems very secure, but time will tell7. Value for money seems excellentGiven what the MINI OEM parts for this same set-up would cost, the negatives here are more annoying than anything else and certainly not a deal-killer. Also, I should add that I'm really pretty technically challenged -- I don't/can't change my own oil. I can, however, change a light-bulb and this wasn't very much more difficult than that,Next up: retrofitting Apple CarPlay!

Highly recommended!
If you've looked at the Mini-branded phone holder like this that they'll happily charge you $100+ to install at the dealership, this product is for you. It was VERY easy to install, came with links to easy-to-follow videos that were really helpful. After install it works perfectly, puts my phone at exactly the right level for easy viewing without being a distraction. (My last Countryman had the heads-up display, and this phone holder puts my screen at about the same height, though much closer to the wheel of course.) I'm so happy I bought this, it's made a huge difference for road trips etc.

Easy to install. Here’s how I did it.
A lot of complaints about the installation. Here’s how it’s done and it’s extremely simple. The “L” shaped tool that comes with it is smart.Above the steering wheel there are two screws right beneath the speedometer cluster. One on each side. Remove those two screws first then firmly slide the cluster off mount. It won’t break because it’s built well. Do not pull it super far as to not disconnect wire cluster. Once you have it resting on steering column, the other screws where you mount the mount are very easily accessible. Put the rubber bushing things against speedometer first, then cell phone holder, then put included screws in to mount the cell phone holder. Ignore third screw because it was extra. For the phone clip, put rubber bushing thingy over holder screw first then actually screw whole phone mount through either hole on mount as far as it goes then screw butterfly wingnut thing on back side and you’re done.

Just OK; zero help from seller
I like the look of this bracket in our 2019 MINI F56, but there are zero installation instructions, and the web address given on the packing slip leads to a 404 error -- Page Not Found. There are a few photos on the seller's site, but they are so tiny and crappy that they're useless. From YouTube vids, I knew how to install the bracket to the back of the speedometer, and that wasn't tough (but as someone else pointed out, a magnetic torx tool, or at least a magnet, is a big help). However, I'm still not clear on how the phone holder is supposed to attach to the bracket: Is the plastic wingnut supposed to go behind or in front of the metal bracket? I've seen photos showing it both ways. Why are there two holes at the end of the bracket? Why is only one of them threaded? And why is there a hole in the end of the wingnut bolt?I mean, I've got the thing installed, and it seems sturdy enough, but the seller REALLY ought to provide a little more help -- especially at this price point. We're looking at maybe $4 or $5 in Chinese parts, so it seems like they could spend 50¢ on a page of detailed instructions with clear drawings.

Put it on a 2020 Mini Cooper S Convertible (F57)
I just got this installed on a Mini Cooper S Convertible (F57) after some considerable searching. There were no instructions included, but the short story is that the instrument cluster can be removed. The removal happens with a T15 Torx wrench, and then you have to detach the wiring harness attached to the cluster. Once that's done, you simply screw the bracket on, and reassemble everything back.It didn't take more than 15-20 minutes, but some clear directions would have helped. Also, it fit my OnePlus 7T phone (which is pretty sizeable) with a case on, so I'm pretty happy.

The bracket is fine, the piece that holds your phone is poorly made
The product was broken upon arrival at my house. The bracket works fine but the piece that holds your phone was broken when I received the package
