I had one- a WDC Blue SATA III from 2017. It FAILED. I was running USB 3.0. I wanted to take advantage of the MegaRaid controller SAS and 12GB/sec, particularly for windows Image backup. I run windows 10, and I use Windows 7 builtin-to-OS backup program ("sdclt" at the Run command window).c) Finally, power. I didn't know this. I was unfamiliar with the SF-8482 end that plugs into the drive. I was unfamiliar with SAS in general. I wondered if it also carried power from the controller card since it fits complete width over the 2 connections (power and data) on SATA(if you want to take advantage of the backwards compatability) or the extra-wide male blades on a SAS drive. The drives themselves are fine. I've ordered 26 of them, in 6 orders from 5 different vendors. Most of the vendors are selling these new hard drives without a manufacturer warranty.
