It's iron, you use a little cooking oil and wipe it clean with a thin coat of oil. Just like a cast iron pan or skillet. The iron will absorb water and soap and spoil anything you cook next. Never, ever soap on cast iron. Spray oil like Pam makes cleaning a breeze. Spray it and wipe, and your done.

Does this waffle maker come with a plug for UK usage - 3 pin?

I bought this adorable little waffle maker for our condo in Florida. We are back in NY for the summer so I can't check to see if it has a 3 prong plug but I am guessing that it does.
