LifeStraw Mission Water Purification System, High-Volume Gravity-Fed Purifier for Camping and Emergency Preparedness

This was a gift to friends in Puerto Rico who are in the midst of the crisis following Hurricane Irma. They were having to carefully boil their water due to leptospirosis which has cause some deaths in their community. This product they said has been a life saver - literally. I love that not only is it benefitting them but another one has been donated to a third world country because of the purchase. Very satisfying.

problem was that the first shipment came w/o the bag, second one worked great for one day, then began to leak out of the red valve. really liked the product, and the water was filtering well, and tasted great, but I cannot say their quality control is very good. Thankfully, amazon fully refunded my money.

I bought this to take backpacking. We tried it out at a lake the week before our trip and learned how to use it - so I definitely recommend doing so yourself. We took it backpacking for a 3 day rough trip and used it to fill 2- smart water bottles each. It is very lightweight and well worth the price. It was so hot out that we used it twice a day and used water from a river and from small creek puddles to filter. When we compared side-by-side with actual bottled water, it was difficult to distinguish between the two. Of course, this would depend on the quality of water source too. It does take a bit to fill bottles, but we averaged about 5 min per bottle so it would take about 20 minutes to fill 4 tall bottles and was not an issue for us. I absolutely LOVE this product and highly recommend it. I think it is worth the price for good clean water and it is easy to use. It was literally a life saver for us on this trip.

Bought this to bring on relief mission to Puerto Rico. I was the hit at every gathering because I had plenty of water to share. Stopped at different homes to make gallons of water for each and gad the opportunity to get to know many great people while it would work. Intead of sending so much bottled water, give out this product if you really want to help people. They learn how to help themselves and not just keep holding a hand out.

I don't know why but I was so nervous about using this. I knew I was going to get some waterborne parasite and end up with explosive diarrhea for the rest of my life. It's been a week since we backpacked and no problems yet!This was super simple to use, even my 11 and 9 year old kids took it down to the stream to fill it up. It was really light and fit easily in my backpack. The water does come out really slowly, it took about 20 minutes to fill up a one litre bottle but I knew that from reading other reviews, so it's not a big deal.Pretty happy with this purchase.

Bought it for my 20-something son who has discovered the joys of backpacking. He prefers it to previous "push and pull" water purifiers. After hiking, who wants to work that hard for clean water? He can set this up to drain into the clean water container, go set up camp, and the liters are done when he returns. Loves is. Easy to clean.

We seriously LOVE this product. It did everything we were hoping on our 10 day Bowron Lakes trip and we drank from everything - cold mountain streams, small shallow lakes, deep cold lakes, silty rivers & even marshy areas. We were healthy and happy with the taste everyday. I'd read the review about how fast it was but even my husband was amazed. When we arrived at camp we set it up and it had both of our collapsible water tanks filled in no time so we were ready for the evening and the next day.

This is one of many life straw products they I have purchased and used over the years,as a keen wild camper,these products are as essential as my robens Klondike tent,and my trusty gstove woodstove,I really can't fault them,fantastic for highland wild camping.whenever I need these products Danish Endurance is my go to place for equipment,my life straw arrived a head of time,and very sensibly packaged,and even a courtesy email after the sale.

ich war sieben Wochen in Norwegen unterwegs. eigentlich dachte ich, dass Trinkwasser dort zur genüge vorhanden wäre. Gerade auf den Lofoten war ich sehr glücklich über den Lifestraw. Egal wie verfärbt das wasser von irgendwelchen algen war. ich hatte nie probleme. Der Filter scheont gut zu funktionieren. Zur handhabung:es fühlt sich alles hochwertig an und es lässt sich alles einfach reinigen. die Anleitung ist nicht besonders intuitiv, mit einigem ausprobieren kommt man allerdings drauf wie das produkt funktioniert.Je nach sauberkeit des wassers geht das filtern mal schneller oder langsamer, das war mir aber klar. ich würde dieses Produkt selbst meinem besten freund empfehlen

Man soll zuhause im Notfall Wasser für 14 Tage haben - wenn man einen Fluß in der Nähe hat und dieses Produkt, kein Problem.Auch unterwegs im Campingurlaub - Wasser ist immer gut trinkbar.Den Beutel kann man mit Aktivsauerstoff reinigen, einfach in den vollen Beutel geben (gibt es im Segelzubehör oder auf Amazon).
